Fear and loathing in Las Vegas

It seems that whatever afflicts her, it is mild, otherwise there is no way this could take place. Even so, there is an overly protective cadre of people around her that have nothing to do with the CIA. The two women in white even look like nurses.

Keep in mind that she's ~70 and had a bout of pneumonia for a while before it was even diagnosed. You seem fairly dismissive of that rather glaring fact.

Apart from that, is she the only woman who gained weight in her later years? And among those women who do, is the weight always uniformly distributed throughout the body? "Abnormally ballooned recently?" Do you have a timeline for that?

I agree that you are no doctor. But you seem fairly ready to make any number of "considered" pronouncements.
I agree with all of that. It is all pure speculation, based on instinct only.

It doesn't appear to affect her intellect that is why I am not worried. But I do see what others see, and to me it is in plain site.

Not enough energy to even make herself look presentable. Even when she has numerous aids to do it for her. Too sickly and haggard to be president.

In an open letter to the American people, 70 winners of the Nobel Prize endorsed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president Tuesday.

In the letter, the laureates wrote that Clinton will preserve the country's freedoms, safeguard national security and unite the country to work toward a better future.

"It is imperative that Hillary Clinton be elected as the next President of the United States," the laureates wrote.

"Some of the most pressing problems that the new President will face - the devastating effects of debilitating diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and cancer, the need for alternative sources of energy, and climate change and its consequences - require vigorous support for science and technology and the assurance that scientific knowledge will inform public policy."

That support is essential to the U.S's economic future, they wrote.

"Strong advocacy for science agencies, initiatives to promote innovation and sensible immigration and education policies are crucial to the continued preeminence of the U.S. scientific work force. We need a president who will support and advance policies that will enable science and technology to flourish in our country and to provide the basis of important policy decisions."

The letter makes no mention of Clinton's Republican rival, Donald Trump.

Paid leave reality check: What are the chances of a national law?

(CNN)For the first time in a presidential campaign, both the Democratic and Republican nominees have put forward plans calling for mandated paid leave.

While Donald Trump's proposal covers only mothers and is not as expansive as Hillary Clinton's plan, it still represents the first time a Republican presidential nominee has spoken out in favor of paid leave, something that only Democratic presidential nominees have done in recent years.

The United States is the only industrialized nation that does not mandate leave for women after they give birth, and it seems the American public has had enough of that designation. One poll this year found that three out of four Americans support a law calling for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave for workers...

Despite definitive proof that it is the Democrats who are interested in stirring up violence during this election, the dumbest man ever to win a Nobel Prize (for an academic pursuit) just can't help belching up fear-mongering:

I can't be alone in wondering semi-seriously if Secret Service will have to protect HRC from assault ... by rival during tomorrow's debate

is is incredibly irresponsible and stupid, especially given that Krugman has such a big platform. Veteran Krugman watchers know that irresponsible and stupid is pretty much his default mode, however, and the Times doesn't seem to be bothered by it.

Krugman may not have gone public with this sentiment had the O'Keefe video received the kind of coverage it should have. Sadly, things that shed negative light on the Democrats are systematically ignored by the coastal media bubble types. There's a very real possibility that Krugman and the majority of his colleagues weren't even aware of the video.

If ignorance is bliss, Paul Krugman may very well be the happiest man on the planet.

"There was a dream that was Rome. It shall be realized...Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again."

It is dawning on the candidates that this is the last time they can provide quantitative contrast to the whole electorate, not just to their supporters. Maybe the most crucial debate of all:
