sure, now we are getting closer to the truth. From 87% to huge majority, now we only need to check where the "many media articles" originate from. Maybe we can boil it all down to a more honest percentage that most could agree with is a reasonable estimate. I think my second post made my stance clear. I do not believe hard core Muslims fit with Western democratic principles ever. Germany opened the door to refugees and indeed a lot of economic migrants used the opportunity to slip through the door as well. BUT: its not like people can go wherever they want the second they enter Germany. Most of the arriving people are registered and tracked and have to frequently report. Their status and application is checked which can indeed take a long time. Does abuse happen? I am sure it does. Do people slip through the net? I am sure some do. Will most of the people be returned to their country once the war is over? I am pretty convinced of that.
In the end it seems to come down to 2 world views: The overall UK view: First and foremost us, let's not care about others in need, regardless of what happened to them if helping them means a burden to us. The German world view seems (and probably it originates from the "WWII Schuld") is to grant refuge to those in need even if that means it inconveniences a few and even if we have to pay a certain price.
Have too many people been let in? Probably. Should they have been more properly vetted before letting them in? Sure if it was summer and they could have conveniently camped somewhere in a safe environment, unfortunately that was not the case.
Across Europe as a whole according to media reports and studies, 60% of "refugees" are actually economic migrants. In some individual European countries the figure is as high at 87%. Here is just one of many source articles that can be found with a google search -

More than half of all migrants to Europe are motivated by “economic reasons” and are not fleeing war or persecution, the vice-president of the European Commission has said.
Dutch politician Frans Timmermans said the majority of migrants to Europe are from North African countries such as Morocco or Tunisia, where there is no conflict.
“More than half of the people now coming to Europe come from countries where you can assume they have no reason whatsoever to ask for refugee status... more than half, 60 per cent,” he told Dutch broadcaster NOS.
