Another R10 reversal at the close.

I think the top may be in for the day, but what do I know. It is at least sold for now.

gmst,

Sim trading, I presume? :)

Afternoons are almost always, unless it's REALLY slow at the real job. On this one I couldn't help it, since that long broke so hard on that first push. I scalped it and then switched to SIM when I felt like I might be interrupted.

LF - somedays its sim, somedays its live.

I cannot tell you how much I want to do sim trading, but time and again, I end up doing live trading on ES. Live trading ES has been causing me consistent losses for many weeks - primarily because my account size is too small for ES. Today was live btw, when it should not have been. And when you make money doing something that you should not do, it simply acts as a bad incentive and bad practice.

I just read in your journal the other day how you had your family remind you to not trade ES. I thought that was pretty hilarious. :D

Family: "Hey, gmst! Don`t trade ES today!"

gmst: "Ooooookaaaaaay."

I can totally relate to over trading and not following rule, but when I traded sim, I never violated that rule. If your discipline is that bad, consider switching to a platform where you only have access to your demo account. For example, NT + Zen. I had goals that I had to achieve in simulator, trading like I would live, before I were allowed to trade live. That motivated me to take simulator trading seriously, since I knew failing in sim meant no live trading.

You should not trade ES until you`ve proven consistent in simulator for a long time while following your rules and trading as if live. You seem to do good on FX, why not trade that live and forget about live ES trading for a while?

Yes, exactly that was the plan, as I figured out that this will act as a good control system on me. However the truth is I never asked my family to do this, but now I think I should. Research has shown that it takes 21 days of consistent and daily practice to acquire any habit. In all the things I have done in my life, discipline was never the problem - other than trading ES live

I think I will ask my family right now to keep reminding me for next 1 month - at least 2-3 times a day. I am sure they will be amused, but if it helps me make money, why not :)

Btw, I am trading FX live. Don't need sim trades in it. Thanks for reminding me about that family idea though :)

I added something to that last post and corrected a few typos.

Actually, I think the family thing is a bad idea, because they will never impose any discipline on you from simply reminding you to do that. That discipline needs to come from yourself. If not, you will fail again and again.

If you are serious about this, you stop live trading immediately and set up a dedicated sim account.

Anyone want to make a bet on the overnight action and the rest of the week? Would a stop at 1200 be hit tonight? Just hypothetically.

The gap above is a little discouraging for shorts, but overall this session was bearish from the open Sunday night to the close today and bulls did not push this one up at the opening range high even when they had the chance.

1151 is a very obvious level below. Any chance we can tag it by Wednesday?

Sorry to butt in on the conversation, man what a narcissist! :)

Are you referring to your prior reply, bigsnack?

Nothing wrong with being a narcissist. I wrote a lengthy reply to PushPull a few weeks ago when he adressed you with a question, so I can totally relate. :p :D
