Quote from Brass:

We all know that none of the current GOP crop can defeat Obama come the general election.

Here is your quote. This is an absolute. Try again. LOL.

Quote from RCG Trader:

In fact, I think Wells Fargo got bigger, didn't they? Did they not swallow Wachovia?

JP got Bear, these guys got Wachovia, BOfA got Merrill and of course Countrywide. I think JP got WaMu, don't remember who picked that one up.
They all got bigger. The exact opposite of what should have happened.
No one on either side (with the usual exception of Paul) realizes how bad a problem that is.

IMO, Obama has about a 5-10 point cushion in the polls until the GOP nominee is picked. An average of the polls have Obama-Romney in a statistical tie.

If Romney becomes the nominee, he'll automatically jump about 5-10 points as the base coalesces around him.

Gingrich is well behind Obama though because his unfavorables are just too high. And the women voters really don't like him.

Quote from Epic:

I disagree. As things currently stand, I think Obama would lose to Romney or Santorum. Gingrich would be close. Obama would beat Paul.

I actually think it will be an improved economy that wins it for Obama toward the end of the year. But right now, he loses.
I agree that Romney is the Right's best shot. But I don't believe he'll measure up in a contest. I think most of us here know that. As for Santorum, he has no chance in hell among thinking people. This is the guy who is a walking contradiction. His motto is "faith, family and freedom." He believes government is too intrusive, and yet he wants the country to run on faith and his own definition of family. Talk about intrusion. Further, he openly dismisses both climate change and evolution. Not a chance in the general, and I doubt he even gets that far.

Very well. Let me preface my remark with "I THINK we all know..."

Speaking of walking contradiction...

Did anyone listen to the Gingrich response when all the candidates were asked how their faith would affect them as president? Let's see if I can find it.

Couldn't find the full quote, but this is very close.

being faithful is more than spending an hour in church every Sunday, it’s a part of a person

Newt is absolutely the posterboy for living your religion.
