When the campaigning is over and Trump loses (in a sane and civilized world), I'm wondering how Trump's present conduct will affect the Trump brand. While Trump is clearly appealing to his base (with "base" doing double duty in meaning here), this political base essentially comprises yahoos that are not really the intended market for his various business interests, apart from his foray into some mainstream consumer markets and his vacuous TV show. (Although, truth be told, I don't see how anyone with money and self-respect would want to be associated with the Trump brand anyway.)
I don't see how Trump's flirtation with totalitarianism will do his principal business interests any good. That he has captivated an ugly hoard of goose-stepping yahoos is hardly a plus. When the dust settles, I can't help but think that the Trump brand will have about as much appeal as a narrow mustache.
