I'm trading with the YM, ES and NQ, so anything I might post would be WAY off topic. But you're right about handing the ball over to somebody else, at least for the day to day.
Not all all - let's hear it - this method trades the ES!
OK I'm a sucker, here's the trade from 09:40 - 11:30 EST today, June 16. See attached (blow the image up to full). Who made money off of it?

I have really got to get the data feeds for the Euros, shows a whole new perspective on the market. JR, again I really appreciate this thread. I got some great info and didn't have to dicipher any guru talk to pick it up. You better watch yourself or you might get a little following on here.

Actually, I trade the NQ, entered at 20, exited one ctx at 30, target 41.

I had a thread here several months ago called Keeping It Simple II. It followed the same principles as your strategy only in a different way (same song, two languages). I may update it one of these days, but you're doing just fine. The two approaches dovetail nicely, at least for me.

the above was for the 9:40-11:00am forgot to mention the euro open. I did trade 3-5am but saw not setup that I was willing to take.

looks like I got my 1005 :)

45 es points on 6 lot. I'm done for the day.
That's $2,250.- profit if I'm not mistaken. Do I hear a "Whooooaaa, Johnny" ??

:p

Also can you post the guidlines for getting quotes on the European markets? I would like to start following them but have had some trouble figuring out the symbols.

For IB, it's DAX and ESTX50
For eSignal, it's AX M3-DT, ET M3-DT (will be AX U3-DT, ET U3-DT after next Friday)
Not available for Qcharts (one of the reasons I switched)

Rollover is 3rd Friday.

For SierraCharts, ask JR

Anybody has the correct format of the symbols for the YM, ES, ESTX50 and DAX for the IB datafeed?

Thanks
In SierraChart, click the Edit menu then Intraday File Update List and add these symbols:

YM-200309-ACE
ES-200309-GLOBEX
ESTX50-200306-DTB
DAX-200306-DTB

Also add these two symbols (ready for contract rollover to September on Friday):

ESTX50-200309-DTB
DAX-200309-DTB

Baggerlord, does this also answer your question?

I am using nextrend, and those don't work in mine. For example, my symbol for the SP500 is ESI3'CM. The I is the month code, 3 is the year code, and CM is the market they trade on.

Edit to add: Never mind. I emailed the customer support. No sense bugging you guys about it. Lets get back to talking about how we all cleaned up this morning!

That's right, but to be thoroughly thorough for the newbies:

Go to your IB TWS screen and simply type DAX in the 'Underlying' box and press enter, then Futures, then June, then DTB for the exchange. You'll then have your quote ready. Do this same thing typing ESTX50 in the quote box. Repeat again for September contracts. To get this data into Sierrachart (or any another 3rd party program): within TWS click on the Configure menu ,then API and make sure Enable Active X is checked. Now you're ready to go.

I do not recommend Esignal for Eurex. Their quotes are notoriously delayed. A cheap and better alternative for true streaming data is MyTrack.
