DACA - anyone have a non-stupid prediction of what Trump will decide?

You're right but he also promised to end it. Letting it wind down over a period of years and colluding with congress to pass an amnesty is going to infuriate his base.

The players are now acting out their assigned roles. The DACA supporters are all crying about how cruel it is. Secretly they couldn't be happier, but they are trying to retain leverage for the inevitable amnesty bill.

Sending Sessions out to rep it was lame. He hoped to use Sessions' hard line rep on immigration to make it look tough. Anyone who knows how things work can see it is a scam.

Yup - and more to come.

I am a Never-Hillary voter so -unlike his hat wearing base- I end out supporting a lot of Trump positions but it never required me to believe that he would not adjust himself as needed when he went along. Trump will gravitate toward anti-immigration-lite but it is still exponentially better than the flat-out open borders position of the dems. And yes, he needs to figure out how to make all this work with his base. Get going. That's his job to pretty up not mine. And as I said earlier, there is no easy road for the dems either, they are going to have to cozy up to some stuff that they are going to have to splain away too. Get going.

Getting rid of as many Dreamers as possible would be one of Trump's biggest accomplishments. Instead, he is now promising to "revisit it" if congress doesn't do something.

How is this different from having Jeb Bush as president? I mean except for the obvious entertainment value and Melania.
