Cap'n, you're asking for those on the left to give you facts that make you understand why they do what they do, when the left really don't have them. They prey on emotion, on a "sense of what's right" (even though it's their right to determine what is indeed "right", not yours).
How do you expect this will go?
How do I think it turns out? We get taxed into poverty. We become more split on race relations. The country as a whole sinks further towards third world status. I guess that's the leftist utopia. The white devil must be punished. I really don't think they realize they're going down too. Every Marxist thought they would enjoy the fruits of the Kremlin. Most ended up in a bread line. They never learn.
I think revolution occurs before then.
100 years ago, for sure. 50 years ago, probably. Today? Doubtful. Much too pussified as a whole. It will need to get a whole lot worse before anyone is willing to take a bullet rather than live, even if it's on their knees.
I'm hoping you're right but I'm not sure if when how that would play out.
In 1860 the "battle lines" were fairly well defined geographically.
I'm thinking today the situation more resembles the American Revolution with Tories (leftists/pro big govt) and Patriots living more or less side by side.
Where is the Patriot's organization going to come from? Individuals and small groups will be crushed by massive force and quickly demonized by the media. I don't claim to know what critical mass is but seems to me it will take an armed force of something well into the thousands. Before larger numbers of patriots start leaving work and family to join in the protest/fighting.
Is it plausible that a group that size can organize, with our own govt spying on us already? I'd love to see it, but I'm not very hopeful.
When the financial aspect begins to hit home, people will riot. Hell, they rioted over 24 hour loss of access to their SNAP cards. You don't think that once the government can't pay their bills - or real inflation hits 15% , they won't be burning shit?
You and I may be talking about two different kinds of revolution.
This is where, once the money runs out, the lapse will begin. Someone savvy in the government, probably in the military will seize power if there is enough discontent.
