Kapernick, which is what this was all about from the jump, him and his washed up career. How to be a media whore 101.
Kap was doing just fine career wise before being black balled

Thanks for helping make my point.Kap was doing just fine career wise before being black balled
I don't follow the NFL and I can honestly say I have never seen him play professionally, but I have to believe if he was still any good he'd be dressing somewhere on Sundays. Its all about winning. That's why the top players in any professional sport get those ridiculous contracts. If he could add value to an offense... someone would scoop him up. Supply and demand. There must be more (and better) supply.Kap was doing just fine career wise before being black balled

I thought he was protesting the Betsy Ross flag?
The one that symbolized our independence, you know the independence that led to the end of slavery.
Again, WTH exactly is his message?
Scorned rednecks?Well, in business, there's cost benefit analysis. I don't follow football either but my understanding is the kid was no prodigy but certainly good enough to be in most teams.
The cost of scorned rednecks for having him on a team wasn't worth the benefit is my understanding.

Scorned rednecks?
Pretty sure the NFL's fanbase is a quite a bit more diverse than NASCAR's. I think the "rednecks" are probably the minority in this case.
I don't see it as coincidence that he started kneeling at the same time he was losing his starting position, the exact same time. Kapernick started his "protesting" at the end of the pre-season games which is when he knew his starting position was lost. No, I dispute your point of this being a stunt "from the get go" to restart some dying career.
Unless you're talking about the shoes, which wasn't clear from your post
