Seattle could be a harbinger for the rest of the country. What's the hidden agenda? I'm a law and order fan. My agendas are there for all to see.
You know I"m not talking about law and order...I've clearly explained many key occupations in our infrastructure are suffering a staffing crisis that's related directly to the
Pandemic (e.g. slow promotion opportunities, increasing workload demands from protests & covid, covid illnesses, vaccines, lack of community support et cetera)...same issues that are problematic for other key infrastructure occupation groups.
The Pandemic has accelerated everything...including gun violence (see my prior posts about crime/gun violence warnings that I posted earlier in the Pandemic that nobody had much interest in discussing...it will dramatically increase when the country traverses from a Pandemic to an Endemic).
Simply, Pandemic/Covid has pushed many over the edge.
Also, as I've clearly stated...Seattle has been having budget problems since the
1990s. Further, Seattle is well-known as a "lagger" for the rest of the country. Simply, what happens in Seattle has already been occurring in the rest of the country.
In fact, there's an old joke...what happens in California today will happen in Seattle tomorrow...something like that.
Regardless, today, we know many police departments across America are also
suffering a staffing crisis just as we know the same is true for the trucking, airlines, hospital, and many other industries that have a large group of workers resigning from their jobs during this Pandemic.
- All those new jobs we've seen the recent months in other industry groups is because they gained those employees during this Great Resignation.
For example, a good friend of mine that was a high ranking police officer in the Seattle area...he quit to start his own business...a security firm. He did that with only a few more years remaining before he could have retired from the SPD with a nice pension.
Just like hospitals...police departments are also
front-line workers. Front line workers in this Pandemic are the ones impacted the most with low morale, higher job scrutiny, increased risk of death/injury et cetera. In fact, many of these industries are offering cash bonuses to attract new hires.
Fortunately, some have been returning back to their former jobs as front-line workers in many key infrastructure industry groups for personal reasons although not enough in my opinion.
As for your hidden agenda, yes...it is there for all to see.
