Calling a person of color like myself, a person who has just told they have dark brown skin, "a piece of shit'. Makes YOU a racist. You need to check your white privilege.

But this is not surprising, most Democrats are openly racist against white people all the time. And Democrats see blacks as inferior to whites, so think that blacks need special treatment. This is racist too.

Seattle has had funding problems for its police departments, and special units since the 1990s even when they "increased" their budget or "decreased" their budget in one department while doing the opposite in another department.
  • Now it's being called "defunding"...hilarious. :D
In the mean time, Seattle has a huge "staff shortage" as many police departments have around the country due to the Pandemic. In fact, if you research news stories just for 2022 so far...you'll find stories about the SPD being down -30 police officers to -113 police officers.

When that happens, losing police officers like that (they call it worsening staffing crisis), units that investigate sexual assaults will not be properly staffed and the work load will be merged into other departments but buried at the bottom of the list except for those cases with a lot of publicity to solve.
  • My point, its an illusion that if you're in Seattle and you're raped or sexually assaulted...you then call the police or you go in person to file a police report...they are going to say...we can't take your case...goodbye. :rolleyes:
Instead, if you're one of the unlucky victims...you will get police department working on your case but not someone that has the experience investigating rape / sexual assualt cases. For example, you may get a male investigator from another department instead of a female investigator from the department that investigates rape/sexual assault.

Yet, if your case is high profile...the SPD will prioritize your case and use all resources to solve the case.

To those that don't understand the true reason why Police Departments, Healthcare workers, and other jobs are viewed as critical to America's infrastructure...
  • Just research Great Resignation 2022 or 2021.
It's not just a problem for Police Departments, Hospitals but it's a huge growing staffing crisis for many other critical infrastructure jobs like Trucking, Airlines/Airports et cetera.
  • Yet, we don't refer to staff shortages at hospitals, truckers, or airlines as defunding. :D
Simply, a ton of these staffing crisis issues in many occupations are directly related to Covid / Pandemic but there are other issues too like low morale, more job scrutiny, local reforms efforts et cetera that are making recruitment and retention difficult...not just for Police Departments.

Further, you know it's not a defunding issue when police departments are offering a cash bonus to new police officers that are hired as many police departments across America are doing. As I stated in my prior reply...departments cut the budget in one area and then increase the budget in another area or they decrease the entire budget but use that money to increase the "financial support" in other areas in the local community.

Regardless, in the old days when Police Departments had a staffing crisis...they quickly resolved it by giving housing allowances (they partially pay for your housing) if you lived in the community you're patrolling...maybe those days are long gone for most police departments.

Yet, there are some police departments that have a "residency requirement" (you live within the city limits of your police department that you're employed as a police officer and 911 operator) to help build confidence and community trust within their local community.

Today, they seem to be more focused on moving investigators and those that typically wouldn't necessarily be taking 911 calls, putting them back on the street instead of reverting back to the old ways of resolving a staffing crisis and community trust issues.
