chew your f*cking food.

Wow... Glad you are fine.

Why strain when you can blend/juice?
There are some simple easy recipes for great soups.
I guess they shouldn't be too hot too, it doesn't help the healing.

For a velouté or vellutata,
You just put in a pot the "usual suspects": onion celery and carrot, then you add the main ingredient like pumpkin/butternut squash or potatoes, or legumes like soaked brown lentils... Tomatoes or any ther veg you like, meat or fish if looking for substance.
Then salt, herbs (avoiding chilli and spicy stuff in your case)
Top it up with some extra virgin, parmesan or blue cheese.. and blend it all.
Ingredients don't even need to be chopped much cause of the blending later.

I use an instant pot, which is an electric pressure pot, and those are done in 20min from beginning to end, otherwise is about 45min...

I hope you like ice cream!

We have a VitaMix and the Instant Pot. I am not a fan of liquified meals, so Steph is making me various soups today. Instant Pot is awesome.

We did rounds with the attending at Cook County when I was a second year. Dude comes in sht-faced and has a uneaten hot dog lodged below the trachea and upper esophageal sphincter. He can breath but obv uncomfortable. I didn't witness the removal but saw the hot dog later. It was whole. It was lightly chewed and whole.

Quick thinking on your part!
Breathing hot dogs should be left to the professionals.

Well, taken out in two parts but the x-ray showed it was whole before removal.

Fck, this is a horror story!
lol

I had the sequel to that horror movie the next day (unable to breath again)
Luckily nothing like as bad and only for about 5 seconds.
Never had it again since, although I now get worried whenever I have a bad cough!

So weird!
I certainly felt like an alien for a while when teh Doctor's didn't have a clue, but after I done my own digging and discovered laryngospasm it all made sense. The vocal chords and just muscles, and muscles can spasm when under muscular tension, overuse, increased demand of blood flow etc (such as a lengthy violent cough)

After learning about it a bit and then finding a reddit sub or something it felt nice that I wasn't the only weirdo to ever experience that nightmare!

When I was undergoing the choking fit, i evacuated the green tea and could barely, perceptibly breathe for a moment (like thru a straw) and then the nuts shifted and closed off the airway. The panic is real.

The worst part is honestly the fluid spewing from your mouth. For an instant you're hopeful that it will somehow dislodge but then you're going to aspirate on liquids as well. Horrible feeling.

I really don't want to relay the story but I choked on some nuts (almonds, thanks) this morning and almost didn't make it to be Heimliched by Finn. So disaster averted but he literally saved my life. It was surreal for many reasons but I can tell you what it felt like to loss consciousness while choking. Literally myopic-vision and loss of hearing. Very strange.

Ironic as I had saved a choking victim at a restaurant in the S of France when I was at the conagency (with my parents who were staying in Aix).

So be mindful of what you're eating and masticate enough to generate pre-digestive action (saliva production).

The whole area is really sore so wife pushing to see if something is wrong. I know I am going to get trolled incessantly for this, but it may save a life. Don't eat like a Duck.
That’s scary as hell! I am so happy you made it and your kid’s high level awareness caught that! It’s too early for the Option god to enter Valhalla!
