Breaking: PHOTOS RELEASED of Suspect Michael Brown ROBBING STORE Before Shooting

I was 16 when my dad shot a perp in the leg after he broke into our home at 3am on Nantucket. The perp was black. Was that an issue of race? The guy was only wounded, so perhaps not. Dude attempted a civil suit (failed).

The fact that he could even attempt a civil suit is a testament to how stupid Castle Doctrine is in Mass.

What happened to all of the reliable, eyewitness accounts that you've quoted repeatedly in this (and other) threads?

I was googling a DBP quote, but all I found was DBP's review of old Judy Garland concerts... sorry, I found it a bit amusing.

So you're investigating me. I'm flattered.

Yes, I'm a Judy Garland fan. Also a fan of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Helen Forrest, Fats Waller, Michael Jackson, Lena Horne, Eileen Farrell, Mario Lanza, Pink, Bonnie Raitt, Dusty Springfield, and others. Of whom are you a fan, other than Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift?

IIRC the lawsuit was related to some excessive use of force on an unarmed perp.

Right, and that - in my opinion - is bad Castle Doctrine. For example, Florida allows a homeowner use of deadly force on any intruder who enters their house, because it operates under the assumption that someone breaking into your house has already established their intent to cause harm and that it does not need to be extended to a hostile act (because that could be too late for the homeowner).

Massachusetts, like other liberal states, make the homeowner first ascertain whether the "perp" is interested in doing harm to you or just taking your shit. At 2AM in the morning in the dark, that's a risky proposition.
