Best book on Lifting

It burns calories by working on stabilization muscles. I guess if you already have a lot of stabilization muscles, then it won't do much for you.

Seriously, real yoga is not as easy as that video portrayed. It's a lot tougher then we imagined.

If you want to see what it is like doing yoga, then crawl around the floor in a push-up position. Try doing that for 30 mins and you'll see that yoga is an exhausting exercise. :)

i know that...not the philosophy of yoga but i stretch frequently to maintain long length to my love muscle. :D
 
Another strong workout today. While it is now a walk in the park for me to burn 425 calories in one hour on the treadmill running/walking, I was reduced to walking though today - I think I pulled a groin muscle. Ugh. I was careful warming up and everything. I did the workout anyway, tenderly walking. It is so easy to give yourself an excuse to stop. I think unless you are doubled over in pain, work through it and accustom your body to having to deal with pain and stress. As soon as this groin thing goes away, I am going to take my treadmill to the next level - do in one hour what I did in two just three weeks ago.

The lifting also went well. Funny, the smoking hot woman was there again running like crazy, making everyone else look like they are standing still. She then goes and does 50 perfect military style pushups and doesn't even breath. The woman is an alien I tell you. The head trainer strained a neck muscle, I think from looking at her ass while trying to do heavy lifting, and I think I pulled a groin muscle just thinking about her ass.

Still at 182, but I would not be surprised if I gained some weight now that I am lifting again.
 
While it is ok to work through some injuries, it's my experience that trying to work through a leg injury that forces you to change your gait, more often than not, leads to other lower body injuries. This seems to be especially true the older you get. This can set you back even further in your goals. It's better to suck it up for a few days and jump on the bike like the other women at the gym. There's a reason why sports pro's sit on the sidelines on a bike when they are injured. A groin injury can be the worst kind for making your lower body joints and muscles do things they're not used to doing.
