Another White Cop shoots an unarmed Black Man

At least they charged the 31-year-old former trooper with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, a felony that carries up to 20 years in prison. I think they should charge him with attempted murder.

and they got it all on camera, no "He said She said"
there it is for all to see

my father told me, if you ever get stopped by the cops, always call them "Sir". And that saved my ass many times. And that is exactly what this shooting victim called the cop

I hope the cop gets a lot of years and the victim gets a lot of dollars

the good thing is they fired the cop and arrested him almost immediately

What is needed is mandatory instructions of how to act when the police pull you over. This should be taught in all schools and especially to persons who have been arrested.
Simple rules like asking for permission to make a move back into a vehicle. Making sure the Officer always knows what you are planning to do, where you are going to move your hands ...etc.

Ferguson is a good example. They claim Brown had his hands ups, but maybe the Officer was telling him to get on the ground. Brown with his hands up may have been more of a threat in the Officers mind, because he could have easily attacked the officer.
You see this point in the Rodney King video. They keep telling him to go to the ground, he never does on his own. From there he is considered non-cooperative and is taken down.

the only thing that is going to save this cop's ass is saying, "After seeing the video, I realize I made a horrible mistake, and ask the victim to forgive me. And I promise never to work for any law agency or own a firearm ever again."

The police ask that man for his license. The man respect that police man and try to get his license. Then that police man go crazy and start shooting because he (imagine) threat only because the man try to get his license. Just like that big pussy Jorge Zimmerman (imagine) Trayvon is criminal with no evidence. Why? Because they are afraid of black boys and latino boys and have the feel in their heart that they are all criminal. That is why.

or we could teach kids you are an American Citizen and you have rights guaranteed in the constitution, and if a cop pulls you over get out of the car, pull your pants down, shoot him the moon and say, "Hey Pig, kiss my ass." You'll probably get a ticket for a turn signal out instead of just a warning ticket, but at least both you and he will know you are free.

Proper conduct indeed. What's next? Do you want to teach kids how to be polite when the FBI comes in your house to search without a warrant?

Maybe we should have a class in school teaching children how to act politely when the NSA taps their iPhone.

Here's what will solve 99% of all these cop/citizen controversies: COP BODYCAMS.

They have a very positive effect on folks.

The driver made a quick move back inside the car. To the officer it looked like the driver was rushing to get something he shouldn't get.
It was a wrong read by the officer. And the officer should have taken cover, until he knew what the driver was going to come out with, instead of shooting.

Had the driver told the officer that his license was in the car the officer would have moved to where he could observe the man. In the video the man turned his back to the officer and the officer could not see what was going on.

Some here want to claim we are free to move as we wish. In this situation working with the officer will not make you less free.

The officer only cares about your hands and where they are going. In fact they say one of the best ways to talk your way out of a ticket is to calm the officer down by showing your hands and keeping them where they can be seen.
No one wants a nervous officer with a gun.

That's what we've come to over the past dozen years. And an extraordinary number of people think it's perfectly okay.

The US isn't what it was. And we can never go back.
