Thanks for the head's up, I don't recall debating him much. I try to give the benefit of the doubt in such cases.

I want the true colors to clearly show to all observers before I abandon all hopes of a civil, and logical discussion...if that's the actual case.

At that point, I'll try a different approach. :sneaky:

I don't have to pick anything apart. They never said that that's what the suspect said, you did.

You can wish and assume all you like. The bottom line is that the police never offered a rebuttal saying that the officer just quoted the suspect, and, on top of that, the police sat the officer down.

Nor did the officer himself say he was quoting the suspect.

Explain it to us.
Explain to us why he was sat down.
Show us where he quotes the words of the suspect.
Explain to us why there was no statement from the police saying, in effect, if not in these exact words,

"HEY! BACK OFF OUR GUY! HE WAS ONLY QUOTING THE SUSPECT!"
