He talks about what the investigators, who actually interviewed the guy, told him. He did not quote anyone.

When he was asked earlier about a motive, he mentioned the sex addition etc., but he did not say, "He said he was having a bad day." That would have been the time to do so.

He was removed as spokesperson. The police did not offer the public, nor the media, what you attempt to offer here. No one, except you, has said, in effect--if not in these exact words,

"Hey guys! Wait! Our officer was just quoting the shooter! Here's exactly, word for word, what the shooter said! ..."

I mean you can pick apart the entire press conference if you want. But it’s stupid. Why? Suspect said he had a bad day...spokesman says that’s what the suspect had said...Leftards act stupid.
 
The police sat him down, not me.

I don't have to pick anything apart. They never said that that's what the suspect said, you did.

You can wish and assume all you like. The bottom line is that the police never offered a rebuttal saying that the officer just quoted the suspect, and, on top of that, the police sat the officer down.

Nor did the officer himself say he was quoting the suspect.
