Back in the day before the EU, there was so such thing as a "European Citizen". Every country on the continent of Europe was just that. A country. So you had British citizens, German citizens, Spanish citizens, etc.
They were "Europeans", but not "European citizens".
So then comes the EU and all member states in the EU formed the collective of "European Citizens". One passport and all that.
Now that Briton is no longer a member of the EU, they are no longer "European Citizens". They are back to the old way...They are British citizens. But they are still Europeans, because they still live in Europe. Brittania ain't becoming it's own continent. It's just too small and pasty and has bad teeth.
