Another Floridian just standing his ground

Quote from PHOENIX TRADING:

you shouldn't be talking about obama like that, it will piss off the tribe.

Do you see how talk like this sounds racist? Tribe? Obama? I realize you may have suffered abuse because of your being gay, but 2 wrongs don't make a right PT. If you've been hurt, it won't work to hurt others, IMO.

While I believe in "over-equalizers", (it's the only way to fight), the answer to your specific question, brother Captain, is obviously, no.

Quite amazing how a gun makes a "man" outta so many, huh?

+1, and yet I have several. I do not carry in public, though I can.

If you are going to be carrying your gun, it would be wise to research the sheriff that leapup mentioned, and if he really is an anti-gun cop, you would be subject to a very aggressive prosecution should you come into contact with him. It's one of the things that most people don't take into account when they leave their homes with a gun - the law enforcers in the jusrisdiction where you may contact with may not like you. Combine that with voters who don't like guns, and you are looking at a hostile jury as well.

Where he lives and FL have Reciprocity if he has a CCW. Shouldn't be any problem. Just know where not to go, and the possibility of having to use deadly force is cut by 75%.

As far as the law enforcement in Jacksonville, luck of the draw. One might be laid back, the other may not be. And for jury members in that County. That would also be a gamble.

The Sheriff in Duvall County won't sign off on short barreled rifles, suppressors, and certainly not full auto firearms. Some will. He won't. He's not pro gun. Again, just know where not to go, carry your firearm, and all should be fine.

Luckily I don't need a gun , but I have been known to carry 2, 26 inch telescoping, batons to keep animals in line.

No I don't but if some thin skinned people get their panties in a wad, what the hell do I care?

OK, I know you know better. And I know you see the parallel, but I wont' go there, not nice.

Quote from Ricter:

You have at least ten weapons on you at all times.

Yes, I like to think that I have real weapons like intellect, logic, the ability to discuss or debate, financial security, instead of carrying a gun. And I really only have 2, 3 if you count an antique.

You mean like saying "hello" kinda contact? Generally it's the prosecutors that do the prosecuting. The sheriff just makes arrests. But I think I know what you mean. While I'm sure I appreciate your "concern". What are the odds of me running into that sheriff in that one area on that day? I almost always carry concealed. Unless there is an incident know one will even know I'm armed.

I don't really care whether they like me or not. The FL state legislator says I can carry in FL.
They could certainly harass me. In fact that sort of unfounded harassment of legal gun owners occurs all across the country every day. As someone who travels for a living and takes my responsibility while carrying very seriously though. I normally review the state laws before crossing a border.

Some voters don't like guns. Mostly the ones who know little or nothing about them. Last I checked roughly 70% of the US population agrees with the 2nd amendment. Of course there will always be a few idiots. Not much I can do about that.
