Another Floridian just standing his ground

Haven't posted much lately. Connection issues...

Anyhow, I live VERY close to Jacksonville. This has been on the news here often. Something many of you may not know is Jacksonville, Florida is LOADED with crime. The Sheriff there is an anti gunner, and his cops have been arrested recently for prostitution, stealing, and one even threatened Ocommunist resulting in his arrest. Any time I'm in Jacksonville, my blood pressure is up, and my Glock is at my side.

Last, if any of you were to come to Jacksonville, and see just how out of control the blacks are, you'd be blown away. It's like a zoo in a large part of Jax.

I've been there, that's why the story sounds so stupid.

Quote from CaptainObvious:

I don't necessarily think that a guy, any guy, loses his right to defend his life, even if he provoked the action. You do what you must at that point, but when it goes to court the fact that you provoked the whole incident won't, and shoudn't be ignored.
All I'm saying is we're starting to see far too many trigger happy people looking for trouble, and then the first words out of their mouth is, I was standing my ground as a defence when the shit hits the fan.
My real problem with this guy is why did he run his mouth to begin with? My opinion is he and people like him have grown balls they wouldn't otherwise have if not for the gun and the presumption that they have this stand your ground law to fall back on. It's one thing to defend yourself, but if you're looking for shit it ain't all that hard to find. The question is would they be looking without the gun? I doubt it.

I think this gets to the heart of the matter.

The law, in FL at least, has made prosecution in cases of homicide much more difficult and Floridians know that. DAs in FL have been going on record citing homicides where they simply could not press a case but could have before the law went on the books.

So here you have a knucklehead with a chip on his shoulder and a gun in his waist feeling emboldened. Had he been instilled with a duty to retreat he probably would have walked away, or ignored the other guys. And one teenager would be alive and the dummy wouldn't be facing murder charges.

If you are going to be carrying your gun, it would be wise to research the sheriff that leapup mentioned, and if he really is an anti-gun cop, you would be subject to a very aggressive prosecution should you come into contact with him. It's one of the things that most people don't take into account when they leave their homes with a gun - the law enforcers in the jusrisdiction where you may contact with may not like you. Combine that with voters who don't like guns, and you are looking at a hostile jury as well.

Good advice.

How do you fucking know?
Obviously you've never had someone like rcg ( and pals to back up the lie) swear up/down a complete fabrication against you.

I have through that great educational experience called "busing".
I learned what they are really like, not what the media tells you they are like.

Would you care to share how 'someone like rcg' swore up and down with a complete fabrication against you? Did you retaliate? Did you call the cops? Surely you didn't just stand there and take the abuse.
