2016 Election Cycle's Herman Cain?

Back to Cruz. What's your take on possible eligibility issues?

(or maybe I'm thinking of someone else)

I haven't studied it, because I knew it would go nowhere with obama. I have a very conservative friend who is obsessed with the issue and thinks Cruz is ineligible. I tend to disagree, because he became a citizen through operation of law, not by being naturalized.

The media willhave to tread lightly on this issue, both for fear of appearing biased, I know LOL, and because it could alienate a lot of people who were not born here, like the massive hispanic invasion.

I believe there was at least one president who had one parent who was not a US citizen. McCain was born in the Canal Zone, but the argument was that was US territory.

It would be nice to get the Constitution amended to clean up this language as well as the 14th Amendment's birthg citizenship loophole. Actually repealing the 14th in toto would be an even better idea.

The Constitution has a section pertaining to amendments, so amending it is abiding by it. Liberals of course just let judges do the amending. I am sure you are aware the 14th was passed under duress anyway and lacks legitimacy.

yep, you might as well get ready for a female president, because no white male candidate can beat her. The only hope now for the republican party is to nominate a woman.

That's nonsense. You are talking about one of the most polarizing figures in politics who has huge negatives and who has won exactly one election in her life. She was to be annointed six years ago but couldn't handle a challenge from an unqualified community organizer with a long list of radical connections. She has a knack of putting her foot in her mouth, eg "what does it matter?", and will be trying to appeal to young voters who were not alive when she was chasing down bimbo eruptions in the White House.

Ben Carson on gun control: if you live in a "large city", you don't have the right to a semi-automatic weapon.

Thank you Dr. Carson, will the next candidate step forward please.
Someone else told me he wasn't 100% pro second amendment. I just hadn't bothered looking into it since he's not a candidate yet. While overall I have no doubt he'd lead better than whatever POS the Democraps are going to run. For me, Carson's stock just plunged.

You know, I would love to have the opportunity to discuss it with him, because I doubt he knew what he was saying. He probably thought, like a lot of non-gun people do, that "semi-auto" means an uzi or at least a full on assault rifle. He may well have not understood that he was saying you can't have a glock in your bedside table or a semi-auto shotgun. Still, it's unacceptable. It's a short step from there to assault weapons bans and the like.

Whatever. I'm sure his views are not all that different from Christie's or Romney's or any number of others.

I don't expect a candidate to agree with me on every single issue, but immigration and gun rights are vital. Also, I will have trouble supporting someone with the Bush/McCain mindset of getting us involved in endless wars that are none of our concern or who seem to long for a return of the Cold War.
