back then the media needed a black. Now they need a woman. I voted for Obama back in 2008, and one of the reasons was because he was black. I couldn't see a dimes worth of difference between the republican and the democrat, and I thought it would be good for blacks in this country and good for people around the world to see that in the USA anybody could be president regardless of race.

I didn't vote for him in 2012

Carson has some sssplaining to do on his stupid comment, but even so, he's the only one that can even come close to beating Hillary. And what are you going to do? Stay home or vote for the libertarian because when it comes to assault rifles he doesn't even know what the hell he is talking about? I'll vote straight libertarian in 2016, but if Carson was running I would vote straight republican.

otherwise, the republicans need to find a woman, preferably a black woman. Condoleezza Rice? Wouldn't that be fun, Benghazi vs WMD.

There were several reports this month, based on former and current aides, that Mitt Romney is actively weighing another presidential run. The biggest sign yet comes from a recent interview with The New York Times, where the former 2012 Republican nominee offered a less than Shermanesque response to the million-dollar question.

This was the obvious opening for me to ask if there was a chance. Romney's response was decidedly meta — "I have nothing to add to the story" -- but he then fell into the practiced political parlance of nondenial. "We've got a lot of people looking at the race," he said. "We'll see what happens."

Buoyed by good poll numbers and a wide-open prospective Republican field, Romney went farther than his "circumstances can change" reply in August, and certainly miles forward from the, "Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no," answer in January.

If he does throw his hat into the ring for a third time, the former governor of Massachusetts told the Times that he would employ a cameraman -- essentially his own tracker -- to follow him around in order to guard against statements that derailed his 2012 campaign. "I want to be reminded that this is not off the cuff," Romney said.

Romney said the tactic could potentially prevent another "47 percent" incident, which by his telling, was nothing more than a problem of setting.

"My mistake was that I was speaking in a way that reflected back to the man," Romney said. "If I had been able to see the camera, I would have remembered that I was talking to the whole world, not just the man."

one of the most disgusting things msnbc and Rachel Maddow ever did, and she and them have done many, was after Mitt Romney was defeated showing him at a self serve gas station fueling up his own suv. And the spin was, "Look how the mighty have fallen." That, after hammering him for a year for not being an "average guy."

That was my reaction as well. Do you think Bill Clinton needed anyone to tell him stuff like that?

Romney would have been a good candidate in the 1950's maybe. Now he seems impossibly stiff and uncool. He still doesn't get it that being a PE big shot who made a ton of money loading companies up with debt and firing workers is not really the same as being Steve Jobs.

I was also very underwhlemed by his decisionmaking in 2012. He ran a terrible campaign, he made a stupid VP selection and he totally blew the confrontation with that cow Candy Crowley. Then he compounded it by wimping out on Benghazi. Now he is going around sounding like John McCain wanting to be involved in wars everywhere. Yeah, that's what voters want to hear.

Paul Ryan is hesitant to discuss whether he'll make a run for the White House in 2016, but he told HuffPost Live he definitely won't mount a campaign if his former running mate Mitt Romney decides to give it another try.

"I wouldn't if he were. I would support Mitt. If he were to run, I would not," Ryan said Tuesday. "But I don't even know if I'm going to either myself. That's something I'm going to decide in 2015."

Romney recently added fuel to the speculation that he may not be done chasing the presidency during an interview with The New York Times. Asked if there's a chance he may run again in 2016, Romney said, "We've got a lot of people looking at the race. We'll see what happens."
