Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

Where is this fantasy league? Is it free? I'm already in 3 leagues, so I'm just curious. I don't need to dominate any more leagues.

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

I don't mean to help Danny out, but I do have to ask one question. If God is benevolent, why would he create such an evil market???

    Are Traders Ethical

777 may be cynical, but throwing the word "libel" and "incriminating" is stupid. I'd react the same way. And it diminishes the seriousness of legitimate accusations of libel and criminal behavior. Don, I have yet to ever insult you. But I'll say this now, cut the crap buddy!

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

This is a cool way of putting it, although it assumes that our logic system works in all universes (if indeed there are other universes) and, of course, that our logic and senses accurately perceive and interpret (even if only to a limited degree) our own objective universe.

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

No problem, except you want to argue against the proposition that God MUST exist. True, you are willing to argue the complete opposite that God DOES NOT exist. But I am not interested in arguing either one. All I am ready to argue is that God COULD exist. And sure, God, omnipotent being and...

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

You are measuring most everything against the bible and "Christianity," which is not what I (or most people here I think) are using as the basis for our arguments.

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

The fact that we are finite is understated above. In fact, our logic system is finite, and using language as pure logic is, I say again, to argue semantics (and it is arrogant). To say that God (if a god exists) is not all "knowing" because he doesn't know what I will do next is to play with the...

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

How about "A Creator might exist." Thus the onus is on Danny to prove that God CAN'T exist!

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

I don't have to search for 4 hours. I don't have to search at all. I just read the posts and I see someone in a glass house throwing stones ("what" rather than "want"). You shouldn't have brought it up in the first place since it was never relevant!!

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

No, he doesn't have a clue. However, he never did say that the victims of 9/11 deserved it.

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

Once again, I will point out that I am not religious and am very agnostic. Nonetheless, this common analysis of God and omnipotence is a game of semantics. We are very, very finite beings, with what is ultimately a very limited logic structure and ability to comprehend, and to define and limit...

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

I take it saying "he started it" would sound childish? But seriously, I only returned the favor (of correcting someone's grammar/spelling) because it wasn't relevant when he did it, and because it is funny that he is a hypocrite.

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

Thunderbolt, the following is the 2nd mistake of yours that I've caught since you caught my mistake. Does this invalidate everything you've said (or mumbled to yourself) on this board? "accept" is what you want. "Except" is a different word, with a different pronunciation, and of course a...

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

This is true if he or she is trying to convince others, but not if said person is simply explaining why he or she believes something. Thunderbolt is preaching to everyone (although it's as if he's rambling to himself), but in this thread darkhorse has not really tried to convince anyone else to...

Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

Hey pal, I didn't talk about "proof," I talked about "evidence." And a piece of evidence-in a court of law for example) does not have to prove the entire case. And if one has a personal experience, THEN THE QUESTION AT HAND was whether someone can have an experience such that the experience...
