Zimmerman charged with 2nd degree murder

Quote from twofacedjoker:

How did you come to this conclusion? Not even the new lawyer for Zimmerman has been given full details on (new)discoveries made on the case.

This is an election year. Case probably won't go to trial this year.

New discoveries? Yea, like the media only reported "edited" 911 calls.

Furthermore, courts need to sort this out, not a grand jury, or a police officer.

2nd degree will never stick. Just another show trial to appease the angry mob. They'll drag it out, he'll plea in down to some assualt charge and that will be that.
Bottom line, the Trayvons of the world will still be getting gunned down at an alarming rate, mostly by other young black men and nothing will be done about it. More bottom line, thousands of fools will still be walking around with concealed weapons whom have no business with a kitchen knife, let alone a hand gun.
Still more bottom line, the politcal system is full of shit and cares nothing about the population in general. The beat goes on, and nothing has or will change.

His judge dad got him off, again. Remember, this is the 2nd, not the first, time charges were dropped on Zimmerman.
I think that's what this is. Not a case of racism so much as it is of corruption. No other explanation really fits all the facts except for Zimmerman getting sprung so fast because his dad had some sort of connection.

+1

We have a winner! :D

That's exactly what this is about! So if Zimmerman goes to trial then that entire police department needs to be seriously investigated.

It's a case about corruption and the blacks lashed out in the way they've been brainwashed to lash out since birth! "It's da' racism!"

As for Zimmerman's case, I always thought that it was 50/50 at best... and his innocence or guilt depends on how much his life was really threatened.

In the way that they should. Not all that long ago, when blacks were killed they did not get either the same police or media attention as when whites got killed. It's just the way it was, and it was wrong. Guys like Sharpton would have no traction if even recent history had been different. He may overplay his hand, and he may like the attention he gets while he's at it, but I do believe he's trying to compensate in an effort to reach a point where the middle ground is tread as a matter of course rather than only when chided. Which is why I had recently written the following:
Quote from Brass:

At the press conference following the special prosecutor's announcement regarding the second degree murder charges, Al Sharpton said something that bears repeating. Specifically, Sharpton said that the governor and the prosecutor did not yield to public pressure to arrest and charge Zimmerman. Rather, the public pressure caused them to take a second look, albeit weeks later. Had it not been for that public pressure and that second look, Zimmerman might not have been charged because local police did not originally plan to make an arrest.

Prosecutors face hurdles in Trayvon Martin case
https://www.wral.com/news/national_world/national/story/10973099/

SANFORD, Fla. — Prosecutors face steep hurdles to win a second-degree murder conviction against neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, experts say.
I think they are expecting the best outcome for them would be manslaughter. But, I suspect even that will be a stretch unless they've intimidated the witnesses into changing their stories.

Prosecuters often forget that their obligation is for the truth of the matter not for a conviction at any cost.

Obviously the prosecutor has demonstrated bias towards the Martin family with her opening remarks.
I saw it live on our local station here.

One cannot help but suspect political /public pressure was behind this.

The special prosecutor was not even brought in until weeks after the fact. Opening remarks? The prosecutor believes there is enough evidence to pursue the matter further. How would you expect her to behave? And I doubt a thinking state prosecutor would pursue the matter only because of public dissent and for no other reason. That's a clusterfuck just waiting to happen and would do very little for her career. She doesn't strike me as stupid. You and FoolTraderDud on the other hand...
