You would think jesus would pay his bills. but i guess not.

Quote from Free Thinker:

"let them keep their beliefs to themselves and out of the realm of politics and causing harm to other people."

if this actually happened i would get bored and go away. thumpers are taught it is their duty to try to get everyone into their cult.

True enough, there are evangelists on [all] sides.

Quote from Free Thinker:

that a rather common biblethumper tactic. desperate person prays. nothing happens. he asks why and is told its your fault.

Just quoting what is there. Most people pray to prevent loss. It may well be that what is lost is preventing the way for greater gain.

Quote from stu:

Your're welcome. I'm pleased I was able to help you understand the mistake you made.

I noticed how you are not running around screaming while running around screaming of God and Hell.

And one hardly needs to convince oneself of anything there is no eveidence for.

Sometimes evidence requires the proper equipment to perceive, when you get it, you will be fine.

I don't need to start, there is no God threads.

Quote from LORD KAL-EL:

It's called insecurity with large doses of hubris.

The little recognized irony is , his obsession and emotional hatred can lead to an epiphany diametrically opposed to his current view.

Yes it can, I believe it will, in fact.

Out of curiosity, who taught you it's your duty to get everyone one out of "their cult"? Do you consider your fervent obsessed zealotry to some how be different or more justified?

Maybe we need a new mental affliction classification, "Anti god/religion derangement syndrome".

no it wont. i grew up as a believer for 50 years. then i educated myself. once a former believer enlightens himself based on evidence he is immune to emotional pandering. it would take real evidence to believe again.
since there hasnt been any sightings for 2000+ years what do you think the chances are?

So, you were thinking one way, and now you think that way was wrong, and even though you were convinced of one way of thinking, you convinced yourself that your way of thinking was wrong and have convinced yourself that your current way of thinking is right...is that about it?

Could it be that your equipment for determining what is true has been faulty all along, and that the most reasonable position is to just remain in an agnostic position of "I don't know, and I don't know how I could possibly know, because I lack the equipment to truly know."
