Just quoting what is there. Most people pray to prevent loss. It may well be that what is lost is preventing the way for greater gain.
Sometimes evidence requires the proper equipment to perceive, when you get it, you will be fine.

no it wont. i grew up as a believer for 50 years. then i educated myself. once a former believer enlightens himself based on evidence he is immune to emotional pandering. it would take real evidence to believe again.
since there hasnt been any sightings for 2000+ years what do you think the chances are?
So, you were thinking one way, and now you think that way was wrong, and even though you were convinced of one way of thinking, you convinced yourself that your way of thinking was wrong and have convinced yourself that your current way of thinking is right...is that about it?
Could it be that your equipment for determining what is true has been faulty all along, and that the most reasonable position is to just remain in an agnostic position of "I don't know, and I don't know how I could possibly know, because I lack the equipment to truly know."
