You staying out because of the election?

Changed my "Cautious Sell" on Dow and other indices to "Wait" in view of last week's bullish performance. Had no positions open last week on the US markets but thought it better to close FTSE100 short as likely to track Dow's bullishness.

I don't have a policy of staying flat across events like the elections - but when the market as a whole shows (through TA) it thinks it better to be flat, I follow.

Republicans maintain the house, no idea what that means for the market tomorrow.

Very low probability Dems win the house.

Unless you sleeping under the rock, the reality is actually the opposite. Dems are favored to take house by 5 seats or so, and probably loose at least 1 Senate seat.

Hoping so. This sort of division curbs the power of the president and government to do bold and strange things.

Except when it doesnt.

Both Obama and Trump have resorted to the use of over-the-top Executive Orders to compensate for the gridlock of not being able to get legislation passed. Obama created DACA through an executive order when he could not get immigration legislation passed. And Trump now uses his perceived executive powers similarly although in different directions.
