The kid's behavior was a rebellious reaction to a pseudo-religious (libertarianism) father. This old white man with facial hair and a fat gut, and with guns (GUNZZ!) no doubt compelled his son to listen to scripture every day (Ayn Rand, of course). Driven mad by this, like so many children of the religious, the son lashed out, first with a secret donation to the left (he was a registered republican only because... dad), and later to the event that's made him infamous (and dead).
All of this could have been prevented with a welfare check of the child the moment the yard started sprouting dozens of Trump signs.

Some more info today on his Internet search history and Crooks possibly did have a plan to survive his "Premier" as he put it on Steam. He was researching Biden's schedule as well.
I'm not saying he was in his right mind thinking the would escape... If his motivation was he can't stand any of this BS any longer, hard to blame him there.
