wtf: Obama Calls For ‘Day Of Prayer" over shooting.

somebody should stand up and ask. if god is all knowing and all powerful and he had the ability to stop the shooter, but he did not, then didnt he want this shooting to happen?

Epicurus Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Quote from Ricter:

If God prevented all evil then Man would not have free will.

so god wants evil to happen now and then so man can taste freedom? then why pray to the enabler of that evil?

"Prayer" is perhaps a poor choice of words for some, me included. I think the prez essentially meant that the people come together and join as one during a tragic moment.

It does not follow that He "wants" evil to happen because He allows Man the freedom to do evil (or good).

if he has the power to stop it but does not he wants it to happen. he has a lot of options if he is all powerful. he could have arranged for a policeman to pull him over on the way to the theater. he could have had the guy have a heart attack. he even could have arranged for the shooter to only be able to murder one person and achieve almost his maximum impact. but no, he had to have wanted exactly what happened to happen.

And etc. All those would be interference with Man's free will.

Without that freewill you disdain God for allowing, you wouldn't draw another breath.

So maybe you do have a point :D
