WTF happened to the block function?

I don’t see how it would increase the need for moderation.

I have zero people on my ignore list. I just scroll past posts that are of no interest and if someone disagrees with me or even insults me I don’t see why I need to block that individual or get angry.

People are such snowflakes these days.

Well everybody is different and not everybody is as lucky as you. I just presented one theory based on my own observation and experience and I was attacked and stalked by a certain individual (you know who I am talking about) and not just him but a whole group of his henchmen who would gang up and attack me on every single of my post when I was posting on other totally unrelated threads LOL for several months. I wouldn't have been able to scroll through just few posts, no I had to skip through like entire pages and pages of text in a thread. The actual number of pages of a thread and the number of pages that I see in the same thread didn't even agree. I didn't know how ET reconciled. LOL Those were the fun times. LOL And I know my experience is not unique. He did this "reign of terror" to others as well. It's

Of course, in an ideal world where everybody is able to behave and is able to debate based on the merit of the argument instead of resorting to personal attacks when they have nothing better to say, sure we might not need the "Ignore" or "Block" functions and hell we might not even need mods. I mean we had a pretty heated debate but we never resorted to personal attacks and we never stalked each other and attacked each other on other posts so of course we never needed to put each other on "Block" or "Ignore" but not everybody is like us and we live in a very imperfect world where you can be beheaded just for drawing a cartoon of some person that lived several thousand years ago so the "Ignore" and "Block" functions are essential.

This is not about being snowflakes. This is about the quality of life. I have said many times before. I came here to socialize and learn after a long stressful day of trading; I didn't come here to deal with s***.

I like the ingore function, but I agree that the block function is kind of useless.

I do love to ignore users who arrogantly present themselves as experts when they really are incompetent trolls.

I also ignore racist bastards before they get banned, as they eventually do. I am just faster than the mods.

My ignore list is populated with racists and incompetents.

I am blocked by a couple of users and I am happy for that.
I can always read their messages if I feel I need context, but it's normally just a waste of time.

I ignore the Dawn, as I don't like to waste my time reading his never ending, pointless bla bla bla about his infinite gamma theory.
I ignore earth imperator because he pretends to be an option expert when he is totally clueless.
I ignore fortune teller... I nearly forgot about his existance and why I have him on ignore. Discrimination or incompetence anyway.

I ignore innershit, because he is racist with a propaganda agenda.

I am blocked by smalldick, or is it smallfill? I think it might be because I like to ridicule trump from time to time.
I am also blocked by the dawn, but that's a blessing as it saves me from wasting too much time reading bs.

I was looking for a LABEL function. Since it is not available, I use the BLOCK function instead.
Who do I block?

- those who radiate negative energy like this OP
- those who create non-value-added new threads (except those who ask for help)
- unappreciative member
- members who are intolerant of other people's views/opinions.
It also saves the agony of members reading my posts.


I still give my opinion even though I Block a person.
As mentioned, I use BLOCK as a LABEL function.
Of course, I might not recall what LABEL I attached to a member.

Fx is where I'll hunt for many victims.
Rough guess count > 600, most though no longer post as the list is years old.
The majority posting on fx appear to be bots.
If you're a diehard Putin, Trump or Jesus cultist, you'll be blocked!

For members who post crap, I usually just put them on Ignore so I don't read their garbage. But for members who stalk me and attack me on every single post of mine, that's when I put them on block cuz if they are stalking me and attacking me specifically, that means they are not just some mindless trolls posting crap, they are actually targetting me and are attacking me specifically so I need to prevent them from reading my posts. So the majority of members on my Ignore/Block list are just on my Ignore list. There are only a few who have earned the honour of being on both the Ignore and Blocked list. LOL

I know I am not now but for a short while back I was. It's cool. I was just really puzzled why cuz I never said anything bad to you. Now I know why. LOL It's ok.
