A woman who booked a flight from Houston to Washington, D.C., accused United Airlines of giving her first-class seat to U.S. Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee — and later threatening to remove her after she complained and snapped a picture of the anti-Trump congresswoman, although the airline said it happened because the woman canceled her reservation on the airline's app.
Jean-Marie Simon, who used 140,000 miles to buy first-class tickets to take her from Washington, D.C., to Guatemala and back home, described the experience as “so completely humiliating,” reports the Houston Chronicle.

On Facebook, Simon wrote that she sat next to a Texas congressman who identified Jackson Lee as being in Simon's seat and said to her that this was the third time he personally had watched the Houston congresswoman bump a passenger, adding, "Jackson Lee gives us all a bad name; it’s shameful."

As a side-note when flying to/from D.C. I have regularly been kicked out of my first class seat from airlines and had my seat given to politicians and lobbyists. I can assure you that I have more elite program status and miles then any of the characters they gave my confirmed seat to. This pandering to politicians and their cronies by the airlines at the expense of the traveling public is an ongoing problem in the airline industry. United's claim that Simon cancelled her ticket is absurd and is an example of the usual nonsense put forward by airlines when this nonsense occurs. It is time to put a stop to this absurd treatment of customers by airlines as they pander to politicians.

Actually the odds are very high of posting it if it was either party. I am tired of situations where politicians directly screw people enabled by corporations such as airlines which are giving the politicians preferential treatment just to suck up for favorable political regulatory policy. Having regularly flown the D.C. route in the past I am very sick of this.

Why is Lee flying first class at all? These government slugs should be flying coach. Just think, they could get better acquainted with "the people" which they supposedly represent. In Lees case, she should be taking a Greyhound bus.
Your guys were taking private jets to Europe on our dime for pleasure trips, drop the hypocrisy.
