Winners and Losers from the Republican vote to replace Obamacare

Unbelievable. These are the morons that are responsible for the political paradox mentioned on the first page of this thread.

John 9

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

----
----

According the capitalist bible, Jesus then sent the man a bill the following day.

Wouldn't it make sense to tie this thing up in committee until after the 2018 election? Or better yet, I mean if you are a Republican Representative or Senator, pass it now but write the damn thing so its full effect won't be felt until 2019. In fact, as a Republican strategist, wouldn't you want to write it so it won't have any effect until 2021, other then immediately rescinding the health surtax on the wealthy of course. Then Trump could claim that he made good on his promise to pass "something wonderful" and the Republicans can thoroughly screw their Democrat colleagues, because they'll be in the White House by 2021 dealing with all the people waiting for treat and street at their local emergency room. No one will know health care isn't wonderful until Trump has permanently relocated to Mar Lago. The average voter will have long forgotten who's responsible. In the meantime, Republicans will have kept their promise to their wealthy contributors. From a Mitch McConnell sort of view, its a win to the nth degree!:D
And on Bloomberg today we have a story of how the Senate is slow tracking the AHCA passed by the house. Republicans get dumber by the day. I estimate they are approximately as dumb as Democrats at this point. Why would house Republicans do this to themselves knowing that Republican Senators were going to go home and plead innocence, as in, "Look it wasn't me. They did that in the House." That's of course because Senators don't have that marvelous institution known as Gerrymandering to create safe districts. Senators have to run at large and their entire State can vote, or not, for them as they see fit. We are about to discover that the protection of Gerrymandered safe districts is not without limits however, as a large gaggle of House Morons are about to discover in about 19 months from now. :D

Trump will almost legitimately get to claim "he" made good on his promise to unemployed assembly line workers everywhere to do something "wonderful" with regard to healthcare -- Because what's more wonderful than an extra 3 % of say 100 million if your a billionaire? Of course what Trump will say will actually be a lie unless the Bill passes, which it won't. But what's another lie on top of a couple hundred others? Of course if the Senate kills this thing outright they would look like the dopes they really are, having spent the last eight years claiming they would repeal Obama care. But they can claim that forever as long as they just leave this AHCA thing floating in the ether somewhere. In the meantime they can say, "It wasn't me to one crowd, and something wonderful is is about to happen to another," what's a little lie when your job's on the line? It's the perfect solution to a tenesmal situation. Just leave the damn thing hanging. Mitch McConnell must have thought of this, right after I did. I should be in the Senate!:D

List of Obamacare Taxes Repealed

Posted by John Kartch on Thursday, May 4th, 2017, 6:11 PM PERMALINK

The American Health Care Act (HR 1628) passed by the House today reduces taxes on the American people by over $1 trillion. The bill abolishes the following taxes imposed by Obama and the Democrat party in 2010 as part of Obamacare:

-Abolishes the Obamacare Individual Mandate Tax which hits 8 million Americans each year.

-Abolishes the Obamacare Employer Mandate Tax. Together with repeal of the Individual Mandate Tax repeal this is a $270 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Medicine Cabinet Tax which hits 20 million Americans with Health Savings Accounts and 30 million Americans with Flexible Spending Accounts. This is a $6 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Flexible Spending Account tax on 30 million Americans. This is a $20 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Chronic Care Tax on 10 million Americans with high out of pocket medical expenses. This is a $126 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s HSA withdrawal tax. This is a $100 million tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s 10% excise tax on small businesses with indoor tanning services. This is a $600 million tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare health insurance tax. This is a $145 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare 3.8% surtax on investment income. This is a $172 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare medical device tax. This is a $20 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare tax on prescription medicine. This is a $28 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare tax on retiree prescription drug coverage. This is a $2 billion tax cut.

As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama had promised repeatedly that he would not raise any tax on any American earning less than $250,000 per year. He broke the promise when he signed Obamacare. With the passage of the House GOP bill, tens of millions of middle income Americans will get tax relief from Obamacare's long list of tax hikes.

Ooops, haven't you forgotten something? The bill would have to pass intact for any of this to come true. Though we can admire your enthusiasm, sadly for you there is a U.S. Senate and the Bill, at this point, is just a political exercise no different than all the other failed attempts to repeal Obamacare. There is no chance of the Bill passing the Senate, though there is a high probability of it just being left hanging is space somewhere. Please see my post above.

Yesterday's House Republican gathering on the White House Lawn with our fearless leader, will be remembered as one of the great comic moments in the history of U.S. government; one of those events that we'll still be talking about a generation from now. The Donald and Paul Ryan are making history!

Sports teams could learn something from this. The Oilers missed their opportunity the other night to celebrate their victory between the second and third periods before the Ducks beat them! :D

I think piezoe needs to be reminded that Obamacare was so bad... the democrats turned a majority in both houses and the the Presidency into Trump and Republicans in control.

I haven't forgotten anything. Read the first sentence of the article again, imbecile.
"The American Health Care Act (HR 1628) passed by the House today..."

while we are in the business of proposing reading lists, I'd recommend you start with the quote immediately above . Does that suggest to you that the Bill is law. I would hope not, but anything is possible with you guys.

Now check out the mood and verb tense in, "List of Obamacare Taxes Repealed".

Well, OK that was written by some other imbecile.

So lets look at what you did write and consider mood and tense, viz.
With the passage of the House GOP bill, tens of millions of middle income Americans will get tax relief from Obamacare's long list of tax hikes.

Now, who is the imbecile?
