Attorney General Loretta Lynch: Federal Benefits Now Available For Same-Sex Couples

Federal marriage benefits are now officially available to same-sex couples nationwide, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced Thursday.

“Thanks to [Justice Department staff’s] leadership and the quick work of the Social Security Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs, today I am proud to announce that the critical programs for veterans and elderly and disabled Americans, which previously could not give effect to the marriages of couples living in states that did not recognize those marriages, will now provide federal recognition for all marriages nationwide,” Lynch said in a statement.

Lynch said she had directed the Justice Department to make same-sex couples eligible for the benefits when the Supreme Court ruled June 26 that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right, but expansion of the benefits required a few weeks to implement.

The federal marriage benefits for which same-sex couples are now eligible include Social Security benefits, veterans benefits and Supplemental Security Income.

Probably a bigger wildcard is that by executive fiat you currently have an administration in power that uses Departments like Justice and Internal Revenue to vindictively create administrative actions to harm political opponents and enforce an agenda. Those Departments are chartered to enforce existing laws established by Congress, but now they seem to have a zeal for creating and enforcing laws as they see fit by creating administrative rules.

That's the nature of "Leftism". Too bad more of us don't "get it".

BTW... the most extreme regimes of Leftism in our time were those of Hitler and Stalin. We're not there (at least not yet), but citizens should not go passively and blindly into the future. The more we "let them get away with by not pushing back", the worse it will be for all of us... and our kids/grand kids.
