Will Gay Marriage repudiation be next?

So they're gonna resort to violence to force their agenda on us, eh?

Yeah, i think they will need the marines to back them up.

Well, here's the thing. Undoubtedly, despite warnings otherwise ( from some savvy LGBT groups and some reasonable Dems ), some parties like the ACLU and some same-sex couples are going to challenge religious denominations with long standing beliefs and dogmas otherwise to force those religious clergy to marry same-sex couples - even though the couple has alternatives available in that State ( the County Courthouse or willing clergy ).

And de facto, the blame to offended citizens will certainly fall on the Dems. For example, in Blue States, at least 50% of Catholics vote Democratic Party. My contention is that if Blue States lose just 5% of the Democratic Catholic Vote, and maybe 2% of the Protestant vote - that's going to be enough to shake the political landscape. Heavy handed, jack boot incursions into bedrock matters of faith that have been religious rites for millennia and established here in the United States since the Jamestown settlement in 1607 are not going to be tolerated well.

Again, I could think of no faster way to a Republican super majority.

Tread lightly. 1. Separation of Church and State, and 2. Religious Freedom.

I'm not up on these matters so perhaps I'm mistaken, but I doubt that the LGBT community will somehow "force" clergy to marry same-sex couples. They may resort to moral suasion, but I can't really see it going beyond that point. Members of the clergy can refuse to marry straight couples for one reason or another, so I think it ends there.

Don't kid yourself...Perhaps the level headed members of the LGBT community will tread lightly (per Bone's analysis of the repercussions), but we live in such a "soundbite" era with social media inflaming the radical elements on both sides of the aisle...hence, the issue could spiral out of control and be very difficult to walk back once it becomes a public spectacle.

Federal marriage benefits will be made available to same-sex couples across the United States after last month’s Supreme Court ruling, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said on Thursday.

“I directed Justice Department staff to work with the agencies to ensure that the ruling be given full effect across the federal government,” including Social Security and veterans benefits programs, Lynch said in a statement.

Why get ahead of yourself and express ire for what has not yet happened? If it happens then respond accordingly. I think the LGBT community won a major victory, and there are clergy who will accommodate them. They're happy. Be happy for them.

Why did you go back and edit your post that said "it's the law!"?

Because you thought for a second and realized that there are laws against immigrating improperly that your side has no intention of enforcing?

I hope you are right about restraint and understanding from all parties. Same sex marriage is now established case law - deal with it.

Probably a bigger wildcard is that by executive fiat you currently have an administration in power that uses Departments like Justice and Internal Revenue to vindictively create administrative actions to harm political opponents and enforce an agenda. Those Departments are chartered to enforce existing laws established by Congress, but now they seem to have a zeal for creating and enforcing laws as they see fit by creating administrative rules.

If, for example, the IRS pulls tax exempt status from the Catholic and many Protestant churches and/or the government stops funding Catholic and Protestant-run health care providers based on long standing religious dogmas and rites... Well, that IMHO will also be quite fairly hung around the necks of the Democratic Party and the political landscape as I described previously would likely change in Blue States.
