In the west nowadays, the rich men especially are very reluctant to get married because the risk losing half of what they have. The divorce rate is about 50% in certain places. Who in their right mind would risk losing half of their wealth with 50% probability.

They should amend the law because now many women are talking advantage of the law to get rich. Some women marry rich men not because they love him, but because they hope in the future when they are bored, they could divorce the husband and get half of what he has. They can then enjoy with their toyboys.

Also, women tend to cheat nowadays while being married, because of social media, dating app, and so on. Why would a man now get married then? Hence MGTOW.
 
A man with such thoughts of his future wife and the lack of intellect to filter out gold diggers deserves what is coming to him. But I am curious why would a spouse that is married to the main bread winner and supporting him/her for decades not deserve half? If that really bothers you perhaps the marriage model does not work for you? Perhaps you don't value child bearing, raising kids, providing a clean and relaxing home, being a trustworthy and faithful partner and companion all that.much?
