why there is no hope

Quote from Mav88:

what I am going to do is legal, but it's a slimy gaming of the government, goes against my old ethics

Same thing here. In effect I'll be billing the same people who are taxing me and so I can adjust my billing to offset their increased taxation. Not something I would have done just a year ago but now anything goes as long as it is legal.

Somebody mentioned leaving the country...That isn't even a winning option anymore because they can make you pay an "exit tax":

I never thought I would see the USA imprison its citizens like some Eastern European country under soviet era rule.

Actually it was set up as and used to be a Republic. It didn't really start going down the toilet, until it became a Democracy.

When did we change from a representative republic to a democracy?

Quote from AK Forty Seven:

Loyal American citizens who accept that this is a democracy and accept the winners of democratic elections .Loyal American citizens who dont cry and whine online and hope for imaginary revolutions if elections don't go our way
Truly loyal American citizens don't take more from the government than they put in, or cheer lead for those who do. Truly loyal Americans don't encourage illegal immigration or try to snuff out individual freedom and liberty in a never ending agenda of forcing their ideology down everyone else' throat.

And FYI, the original American's DID "cry and whine" (complain), were not loyal (to the British) and DID start a revolution.

You're understanding of history is atrocious. But then given Katy Perry is your idol, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're still in school.

Jeezus Christ man, the other day you wanted the history of Israel explained and now you want the history of the US explained?

I thought you claimed to be college educated? Even if you lied about college, like most everything else. Shouldn't you at least try to appear educated? You know, to keep up appearances and all?

In other words,Luke, you are talking out of your head again. The United States has always been a representative republic. I do not know where you think she was ever a democracy.

I know some of you are despondent and all, but it will be alright.:)

Quote from 377OHMS:

Even an amicable/friendly split is impossible. We don't have the geographic separation that existed between North and South before the civil war. You're talking about Right and Left and we are all mixed together to varying degrees all over the country. If the country were divided by states then there would have to be mass migration that would probably kill the economy. People wouldn't agree to leave their state if it went to the other side. Its just impossible.

In the case of an unfriendly split it would be a situation where a state was predominantly Right or Left and the minority would have to leave so millions of people would be displaced and you've got a dead economy again. All through history every civil war was based on there being some geographical separation between sides. Here there is no land demarcation between Right and Left.

Even a revolt would not work. If the conservatives in the USA decided to not pay federal income tax how would they go about doing that? For the vast majority of people taxes are deducted from their paycheck and adjusted at the end of the year resulting in an additional payment or a refund. How can a person refuse to pay when the money is deducted before they receive their paycheck? Even if they refuse to file a federal income tax return in most cases the government would come out ahead because most people overpay their taxes and receive a refund. There isn't, to my view, any way to even have an effective revolt in this country.

We are screwed, plain and simple...
You've brought up some things I hadn't really thought about, and you may very well be right.

Quit trolling, luke. You stated that America was fine until she became a democracy. I refuted that.

You last post made no sense and was not relevant to the current discussion. Please stay on topic.

1913 Was a really bad year for the US.

I suspect he's referencing the 17th amendment among other disasters":

16th amendment (income tax)
first min wage law (oregon)

woodrow wilson inauguration

The federal reserve is formed.

The only thing you refuted is that you are educated beyond your AA indoctrination.
