My personal theory why so many on the left oppose a breakup.

1)They don't want to go down in history as being at the helm when it happened.
2) At least subconsciously they know they'll be losing the majority of the productive tax payers that actually pay for all their socialism.
3) They'll no longer be in a position to continue forcing their liberalism down the rest of our throats.

There's always hope. A big asteroid could break up in space and hit Washington, D.C., NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles all at once and solve our problems for us. God works in mysterious ways so I'm counting on this miraculous event.

democracies are not stable, there are many examples all around us

we would simply get critical mass and vote out, we already have 47% and when things get really bad, we will polarize further

you would not fight and you know it, but if we did it is rather stupid to assume things are just like 1862
