...And the futures are up.
No way that's retail.
Progress for peace is being made.
Hopefully.
It was an honest question. I was too lazy to dig into it myself. What say you?

There is no way it is going to last. The markets are going to keep drifting down until the war is over. So if the war takes a year to resolve, the markets will be drifting lower for a year. Inflation and stuff.
Then dig in if it was not a rhetorical question. It was an honest question. I was too lazy to dig into it myself.

True, but they shouldn't be up right now. Long term our economy is the driving force, and I would tend to agree, the path going forward certainly favors south in a big way, but near term, you've seen how things move on any semblance of good news out of Ukraine...
Why would they do that if the market is heading south.Shorts covering to take profits. So that causes the price spike. Right now they are establishing new short positions. Good for them, bad for me. Alas.
Why would they do that if the market is heading south.
There's no logic in covering a short just to establish a new one at the same level as far as I know.
Try not to "@overthink" things @Overnight. It'll be the death of your portfolio.

I honestly don't think it's the btfd retail crowd tonight. Not after that close on Friday. I could be wrong, it might be a precursor to a huge drop tomorrow. I do doubt that however. The Dow is leading with the other two close behind. That's usually a good sign. We'll see, but perhaps more negotiations are happening as we speak. Again, for all 3 to be up right now, I suspect something is happening. Will it lead to anything other than more of the same stuff we have seen for the last two weeks? Who knows, but Zelenski is overdue for a little less stubborn bravado and a little more negotiation at this point. That or Putin turns the country into gravel. The light needs to come on at some point. War has winners and losers. Sometimes ya gotta cut your losses.
