Why Some Scientists Embrace the 'Multiverse

Quote from maxpi:

I'm recalling more of these observations of atheists/satanists.. I rented a room from a really quirky Swiss woman.. turned out she was doing things with Tarot cards and such. She got upset with me because I thought the devil was bad! She had gone to Europe to take care of her dying mother. Her brothers promised to pay her for that. She became embroiled in a battle with the European medical cartel when she tried to give her mother natural supplements, that drained her emotionally. While she was gone a widlfire destroyed her apartment in America which was on the back of her property. She lost all her stuff. Her flakey friends that were renting rooms weren't paying the rent while she was away and did nothing to rescue her stuff. Her mom died so she came back to the US of A. Her brothers then decided they were not going to pay her for her months in Europe and withheld her inheritance to boot. Her cancer returned. When I moved in to the rented room she had one other tenant. The guy had gotten her credit card info and was buying stuff with it, screwed up her internet connection, phones, and was controlling the mail by waiting for the mailman every day. She joined Kevin Trudeau's multi-level marketing thing and wouldn't leave me alone about it so I had to move. There was unlimited opportunity to pour money into Trudeau's bank account and I'm sure she made the best of it. He got arrested [again!!] recently of course....

That was just one two-year period of her life!!

Cool story, bro.

"The devil is bad."

Ha ha ha. That's some good stuff right there.

What an ignorant naive putz.

Pretty much goes for all the delusional believers in "god".

I discharge my nasal passages at "god".

I wouldn't make such fun of them, but when they have the balls to criticize people with actual rational thought processes..... ie, atheists, the gloves have to come off.

Keep your delusional belief in 'god' if it makes you feel good, but don't dare criticize those that have more sense than that.

What? You only want science presented by atheists? LOL

I prefer science presented by scientists.

LOL! Ya D-Bag!

rich?...lol When it comes to trolling, you can even make someone like Jem look poverty stricken.

Quote from peilthetraveler:
I notice it too. There seems to be some common elements to atheists. Generally unkempt, rarely smiling(unless they are bashing Christians with other athiests) and just generally unpleasant people. Even Richard Dawkins who has millions of dollars, never seems to smile.

hmm.. strange why some believers see anyone who's cast aside religious superstition as miserable.
Broadly speaking atheists I've met, do seem generally to be more cool and at ease with themselves, without having those irrational hang-ups extremely religious people fret and worry over I suppose. Just my take. But then I probably get out more that you do.

All babies and very young children have no religious beliefs, AKA atheists, and they are naturally happy and free spirited until they start understanding what they're told in church then the attack on their own self worth has started and there goes the fun free spirit we all used to naturally have. Thank you Jesus for making me unworthy says the child.:)

Oversimplified imo. Babies are terrified when Mother walks away. Then the new terror of mortality salience begins to arise around 4 to 5 yo. At that point, society really begins stuffing something in there to deny that terror. This stuffing can last a good number years, typically at least through to the end of the "I'm immortal" age.

Sounds like you had an emotional nightmare of being a kid Richter. I don't think what you described applies to many children.
