Again, the guy has a right to tell someone it would have been better to donate to the poor. But if he chooses to act like an asshole and be snarky about it, he should expect to get called on it for being the prick he is.

You're such a charmer, TT. But you keep missing my point. Why do you not take even a fraction of the umbrage at what goes on in P&R, some of which you purportedly don't like, that you are taking at Gladwell's voicing of opinion? Can you answer that one for me please?
I was banned twice before because I didn't like what I believed at that time to be somewhat one-sided moderation favoring a certain member. It appeared that "someone" was able to give more than he was allowed to get. That's in the past, and I'm feeling much better now. But thanks for your concern. As for the Thunderdog ban, I still haven't heard an explanation. It was...spontaneous.
We seemed to share a certain civility for a while there, TT. It was good while it lasted. But you have chosen a different path.

Sure. A man gives $400mm of his money (whether hard earned or not, that is another argument) to a cause...it's no one's business where he donates it. Some liberal (has to be a liberal) gets a burr up his ass because liberals always like telling conservatives what to do, think, feel, say, etc. I tend to take umbrage with people in the P+R forum telling others what they should do as well.
Anyone can say what they want, and then be called out for it accordingly. So does the man have the right to be an ass? Sure. Just as you have the right to interject snark into every post and fan the flames accordingly - and then get called out for being an ass as well.
Fortunately there are no laws against any of that - even in your home country.
