Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

The thread seems to have meandered on and on with suggestions of a deeper secret beyond the obvious in the original post, but I don't think that there is any such thing, just maybe something that should be common sense.
I suspect you're right, although there are a few nuggets which stem from the obvious.
However, now that I've finally figured out both the "obvious [that] is not so obvious" and the "obvious pre-requisite", I will re-read the thread again.
If I do uncover a deeper secret I'll let you know, although not what it is obviously.

Is that I see,
A cat on wall,
But looks so small
Up close i go,
And not too slow,
To see if cat,

The cat is thin,
And has no skin

As snow is pure,
No open mind,
Will just stay blind !!

If I remember rightly the word 'eye' is mentioned by TE or TO many times. Also maybe IOU in 'obvIOUs' is a reference to I over U. A down bar is reminiscent of the way letter I can be written:

So probably this is a cryptic way of referring to a particular chart pattern where a long trade has the best chance of success:
