Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

i would say this is not the first time the dom has been mentioned..or displayed..as..

it is an integral part of the Obvious !

Bollocks. You are really taking the piss Mr J_Smith.

To anyone who is listening to this eejit, search for the 1st reference to DOM in this thread. Sadly, "jack hershey" who posted this is no longer with us (RIP) but one thing's for sure, he didn't know anything Obvious.

Obviously there was a long signal over there.

It is just that I ignored long signals in MES on Friday. To me the risk reward was not in my favour. Time, range and most importantly context are all very important to me.

there are always many long and short signals with the ES..whether you trade them or not is a matter of choice..and..of course available time to trade..

sometimes it can be best to just sit and wait for the "confirmation"..but that means you will miss out on some of the move..but the chances of moving in your favour shortly after entry are much greater..

it is a skill..the same as required for any other profession..and the more you actually "engage" in your profession..the better you become at it..simple really..

what comes to mind is Deaf Blind Can Fall..and what you MUST fully understand if you are taking a civil action for negligence against another..for..without fully understanding what it is you need to "prove" to the judge..then how in hell's name can you expect to win your action based on negligence!

No, just realising one particular obvious.

You are the formerly banned J_Smith, are you not? Not that a denial will mean anything on the alternative reality which is this silly internet.

Never mind. Just carry on as you were; your followers need you.

99.99% of what's written about trading is bollox. The percentage might be slightly lower for this thread but not by much! :D

Is M4/J_Smith FoS? Possibly, but you could say he's supplying a demand. ;)

Of course, I may be talking bollox as well. :)

Well, I don't know or care who M3 is, he/she sometimes comes across a bit strong on some things (like the MES), sometimes is quite hard to follow (especially when he/she posts charts without any context) but I at least agree on one point: Times, Time, and Timing is very important if often overlooked or misunderstood.

it doesn't matter who i am..only what i say..if you don't like what i say..then you know what to do..if you can't relate to what i say..then..that is your problem..not mine

no one needs me..that is the whole point..but some are so stupid they just keep doing the same old thing..over and over..like trading one market when another market offers much less risk..and far more opportunities..

need i say anymore :)

Time = Money

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I have read thru some of the recent and distant posts in this section, and have come to the conclusion that; the obvious is not so obvious to many!

There appears to be a lot of textbook information being thrown around, especially in relation to position sizing and risk management.

What every trader has to realise, is that all the risk management and position sizing techniques in the world are of no use what so ever, unless the trader is aware of the obvious pre-requisite to trading any market.

It will be very interesting to see what answers the many traders come up with for the obvious, those with little and lots of experience alike!
Bird sh$t n the eyes. It is a common problem with traders.
