Why is Profiling in Airports wrong?

This is not meant to be a pro-Trump post. I just want to understand why the left is against profiling in Airports? There is a difference between "profiling" and "racial profiling".

My friends on the left who are pro-Hillary, please tell me which of the following profiling statements is incorrect AND OR racist.

#1. Men are more likely to commit acts of terror in the USA than Women.

#2. A Mexican Immigrant, a Shaolin Monk from China and a Syrian Refugee board a plane in NY. All three men are carrying bags on board. A TSA agent stops the Syrian Refugee to check his bag. He only checks the bag of the Syrian man and lets the Shaolin Monk and Mexican Immigrant go unchecked.

Is this Profiling driven by incorrect and racist stereotypes OR is it smart data-driven time management? Isn't the entire Elitetrader website nothing but people sharing "profiling" data on CEOs, their backgrounds, their tendencies. Sharing technical data, looking for patterns be it fundamental or technical. Why is it wrong to look at historical data to predict future events? These events could be earnings, the behavioral characteristics of a CEO or it could be the next terrorist attack.

If Syrian Refugees face tougher screening processes than a Jamaican Immigrant then that my friends is a form of profiling. How is that wrong? Tell me why it is wrong.

The Isreali's do it with great success.

Airport Security was Federalized to ensure just this type of logical, effective screening does NOT happen.

Airlines are private. They can do whatever they want. Each airline has it's own vested interest in providing secure transport for their passengers. Otherwise, a high crash rating = bankruptcy.

Let the airlines provide security themselves. This alleviates the need to be "fair" at the expense of being right. This also includes firewalled cockpit doors and guns in the cockpit. TSA/DHS needs to brought to heel, as Hillary likes to say.

Fly Much?

I fly quite frequently and can tell you in no uncertain terms that profiling is alive and well in airports around the world. Sometimes it's more obvious than others.

The last time I flew out of Myrtle Beach SC there was quite a backlog at the screening line and they set up a two path system: those who were obviously low risk (little old ladies and old guys with back braces (me)) were routed through a quick line (keep your shoes on...the brace is OK, hands over your head in the scanner...thank you)... while young males travelling alone were routed through a much slower line (remove your shoes, twice through the scanner, pat down etc.)...a young brown skinned male with a turban was put to the side waiting for someone to get to him.

I've never seen anybody complain about this. We would all like to get where we are going without being blown up...did you read about the guy who had soaked his underwear in explosive?. 'boomer shorts'.

Nothing will get you through security quicker than travelling with young children.

:)
