Why is liberal California the poverty capital of America?

I have to say, I would absolutely love it if California managed to secede. Just please, God, let them become their own country. How awesome would it be to see the celebration they have when they secede, and then 5 years, 10 years, 20 years down the road.

Now that the entire state of California is a sanctuary state. I say we let them succeed, take down their border wall with Mexico, and fence the state in from neighboring states.
 
I love California. That is why I live here. I like Mexicans. I think its great the working among us have a good economy.

I would note recent studies put in doubt whether California is really a net contributor.

Just to be clear I am far from a hater of this situation.

I really enjoy the fact that I can get out of my car in just about any mexican neighborhood and get some food and feel welcome or at least never feel threatened. (this might not be true in every part of L.A. but I have walked around just about everywhere during the day in San Diego and feel safe in Mexican areas.

My only problems with the immigration stuff is that it creates more democrat votes...
that is my big concern.

My second concern is I would like to see us get everyone working and earning higher wages before we take in million more.

My third is I feel we must stop printing money for 20 years or so, so we can stop the theft of our standard of living. Its very hard to keep successfully making investments to stay ahead of inflation.

Once the State Legislature lands on a viable method of breaching Prop-13 you will see property taxes increase putting many over the $10k per year limit for federal deduction from taxable income. People are going to pay hugely increased property tax AND income tax on the amount exceeding $10k.

For example: My home in Chicago had a $15k per year property tax bill. I moved to California and bought a property nearly the same value and my annual property taxes were around $2k per year. That is one of the only reasons so many people hang on in California.

I think the exodus that results is going to be epic.
 
Silicon Valley use to be libertarian and the state had a strong Republican base but many of the Republicans in Calif were socially moderate or liberal, when GW Bush took over the Republican Party it went to far to the right so many jumped ship..The moderates from both parties are gone. The new breed of Silicon Valley are all liberal and sheep.

The problem with exodus is that they then begin to move into red states turning them purple and also blue. This is due to the fact that even though they migrate out of a society destroyed by Libprogs, they still continue to vote for them elsewhere. Virginia is now a blue state because of this and it's just a matter of time until all other states turn.-----Unless we stop liberalism, progressivism and illegal immgration NOW.

We may find that Trump's tax plan provides the incentive for many to move to lower SALT states.... and as you say, turning states from Red to Blue. Wouldn't that be an ironic and tragic twist?

(Perhaps we'll see how much Blue state residents "love their illegals"... when they have to pay higher taxes to stay in the Blue.... Personally, I'm hoping enough Lefty CO residents pack up and leave... perhaps turning my state back to Red! But.. that's right up there with hoping I win the lotto, I guess.)
