Quote from Rehoboth:
Different topic here.
It is often argued that the growth in the prehistoric human brain was the result of the protein gain by the starting of the consumption of animals(very simplified). I guess my question is, is this true? If we were to look to our prehistoric past, would not the discovery of fire also started this ability to grown brain power? Meaning the ability to cook food now allows the body to absorb more calories then eating raw food alone. Its something like on average for every 1lb of raw vegetables only 50 cals are actually absorbed, but cooking the vegetables seriously amplifies this and allows to eat beans and other previously undigested foods, including parts of an animal. If we were like a gorilla then we would no longer have to spend 90% of our time eating raw food.
I am not a vegetarian but I often hear the carnivore argument that the reason we got out of the monkey stage was we started eating other animals. But I think it might be more of a chicken and egg scenario.
Congratulations.
Vegans, those that adhere to the truer meaning of the term do not consume any packaged processed food products for example cereals, crackers, soymilk, bread etc. Those are the true vegans, they don't supplement with bottled pills or fortified foods which are nothing more than processed packaged boxed food STUFF with vitamin pills added.
These vegans suffer from vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
The addition of adequate meat & fish can only improve the nutrient quality & quantity of the meal.
