OK, limitdown. I took your reprimand seriously and just read through all the posts. Boy, do I wish I hadn't wasted my time. My original opinion about the overall quality of commentary here remains unchanged. Aside from vladiator's inclusion of an academic paper abstract, I saw next to nothing that challenged my initial appraisal of this thread. If anything, I was even further struck by how utterly moronic and sophomoric most of it was.
I'm sorry if you find my response to be arrogant, but I guess when the level of commentary is this low, any reaction against it will almost unavoidably appear condescending.
I guess what you said is true! We're all just having fun. These markets have cooked, burned, fried, baked, skinned and poink'ed all of us, and the steam that's rising is the frustration.
Who ever started this thread was evidently reaching out to tap into common questions (evidenced by those who replied, stupid, moronic or otherwise).
There's other threads not worth reading:
.. something about how we chose our handles / names
.. something about CNNFN/CNBC commercials
.. something about bashing the Bright Brothers
.. something about trading journals that go on adnauseum
.. something about how one trader "feels" over another
Hey, when it boils down to that kind of slash and burn subjective analysis that you mentioned, then most of these threads aren't worth reading, however, what's worth reading are the content and intent, well meaning or otherwise.
What you're also seeing is iron sharpening iron, in the exchange of ideas, thoughts and otherwise. After all, if we didn't engage each other, we'd only have ourselves to keep ourselves company, and how mentally stimulating is that? Perhaps in some cases, quite!
Cheers, and remember,
have fun!
