Why don't House Rs send over an item by item budget?

RUSH: The fact that Jay Carney is out there saying the president has been open to negotiations all year long and remains so today means that the polling data or the focus grouping, whatever they're doing, must really be bad for them. We're just supposed to forget? Just a couple of days ago Obama said he would never negotiate on this. And by the way, Carney led off his press conference by talking about how 7,000 kids are suffering because of the shutdown. The shutdown is hurting Head Start. I thought the sequester, I thought the sequester dealt with Head Start. That's another thing. The sequester did not cause endless pain and suffering.

The Democrats were crying wolf about the sequester: "Oh, my God, Medicare, Medicaid, defense, oh, no!" Nothing happened. The sky didn't fall. The world didn't come to an end, and it hasn't here with the so-called shutdown. By the way, the shutdown, only 17% of things are shut down. Now, they reinstituted the Amber Alert website. Did you know they shut that down? Did you get your alert over the weekend, your Amber Alert? I got my first one on my phone. I looked and said, "What the hell?" All three phones went off. And I said, "I could have sworn I had two of these things on 'do not disturb.'" And they were. They were on "do not disturb" and the stupid alert still permeated a "do not disturb."

Same could be said of the tax increase known as the expiration of the Bush tax cuts.

"Coburn Dismisses Debt Ceiling
"Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) told CBS News there was "no such thing" as the debt ceiling and that if it is not raised the United States will not default on its debt.

"Said Coburn: "There's no such thing as a debt ceiling in this country because it's never been not increased, and that's why we're $17 trillion in debt. And I would dispel the rumor that's going around that you hear on every newscast that if we don't raise the debt ceiling, we'll default on our debt -- we won't. We'll continue to pay our interest, we'll continue to redeem bonds, and we'll issue new bonds to replace those."

There's an unintended beauty to that last part.

beautiful to a banker who gets paid to sell the bonds.

beautiful to someone who wants to see our kids be debt slaves.

beautiful in a sense that coburn understands there will be no default.

Beautiful in the sense that a tea partier is admitting, indirectly, that government finance is not like household finance, and that government can be in debt perpetually. And today we have another tea partier admitting, again indirectly, that borrowing from ourselves is not very problematical.

is coburn a tea partier?

we do not even need to borrow from ourselves.
the borrowing from ourselves creates unnecessary debt... the real issue is that when we are QEing the debt we are devaluing our currency.

That is the problem with overspending... its not free... it crushes those who works standard of living and value of their savings.

Its similar to crushing the moblility of our class structure with income taxes.

big govt causes income inequality in america.

Note... last night sean hanity was now on the item by item team.

I have noticed fox has slowly shifted to the correct side on this.
I hope it is indicative of what is happening inside the party.

As Sen. Coburn was saying today... the u.s. is not going to default.
So the Rs... can just keep point out they have done what they are required to do... they put the funding bills on the table.

Reid could have them become law tomorrow.
All the pain is being caused by dems.

The Rs tried negotiating... now there is no reason too.
We get deficit reduction by obamacare elimination.

The Rs... just have to get up and say... from now on they will pass the budget section by section like in the old days since that was what they were elected to do.

Then the senate can fund or not fund.

Its really very simple. If we can stop a few more Presidential trips to golf events and economic summits... we can save ourselves a few billion and Putin will not be able so easily pin the tale on the donkey.
