Why don't House Rs send over an item by item budget?

Pat Buchanon suggest the house send over a section by section budget.

It would then be clear who is really shutting down the govt.

If the R leadership does not do this... we know they are not really working for their base.

They must not want to win.

I have found no law which says they must send over an ominbus budget.

I've postulated this based upon the way Romney ran his campaign. Have not changed my mind.

They should be doing that anyway. Wrapping all spending up in one giant bill is designed to do one thing, make over-spending on wasteful items easier.

In fairness, the house did pass a bill funding the entire government except for Obamacare.
 
This could work. Maybe the Senate will agree to compromise a bit, and propose delaying the opening of an exchange, say, for the state of Alabama (start at the beginning of the alphabet), for a coupla days.
 
totally agree, send it over piece by piece. I can't disagree more with what i was hearing on the news last night. This is the wrong fight blah blah. This is the only fight, and the reps need to stand their ground and not cave. the debts have to be paid and the ceiling has to be raised. Passing a budget is also the law and it's not happening, this is the way to make it happen. don't puss out boehner.

they could also suspend their own pay as a gesture that they give a fuck. I know it's only symbolic but it would make them look good.

I heard Cruz is donating his salary during the partial shutdown. Haven't heard of anyone else with the integrity to follow suit.
