Quote from WinItAll:
Most traders who do this "training" during the day DO NOT MAKE MONEY. He teaches either before or after the close, during the day he is basically on the microphone just talking out his positions.
THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GUYS WHO TALK OUT THEIR OWN TRADES AND GUYS THAT ACTUALLY TEACH DURING THE DAY.
Sample a few of them out and make sure that the guy teaching is actually trading and making money.
The reason that firms have these rooms is to make money, which is only fair if they are helping you make money. Just be sure who is teaching you and HOW MUCH THEY ARE MAKING.
had tutorials all day and most importantly had a MULTIMILLION DOLLAR PRODUCER
decided against doing my own room. To be blunt, I wasn't looking to sink that much effort and money into an online room
Thank you for the intelligent post.
Be honest with you I am not used to dealing with posters on ET unless they have cartoons or pasted obscenities or spewing toilet mouth trash.
A couple of points. One: first of all there is no way for anyone to tell how much money any trader is making on the internet.
A trader would be pretty stupid to post his or her social security number on the internet.
I will even state that in some cases it might be hard to know if you are making money when it is managed by a money manager. I think Bernard Madoff proved that people can be misled by the fact that the investor was losing money.
Years ago I investigated and brought charges against a clown who was SHOWING HIS PUBLISHED TAX RETURNS to prove how much money he made trading.
You can do it too. Next year fill out an actual tax return that shows you made $800 million dollars trading pork bellies.
The next day you can file an amended return to show that you really made $80.00. If the amended return is correct the IRS does not care. Unfortunately your duped clients might. By the way, the YOU is a rhetorical one meaning A PERSON.
I trade for a living. Mainly the Dow Index Futures.
I teach others on Puretick.com as well. I do not trade that often where one thing interferes with another. I probably trade about 5 times per day. In truth, educating others keeps me from over trading.
In my opinion it should not matter if the trading coach trades, does not trade wins big, wins little.
The question should be. Is he or she helping to make you a better trader?
You should be learning to execute your own trades, not sit like a turd in a bowl mirroring the happy guru who buys 1,000 shares of dog crap A. You should be learning more about money and risk management, higher probabiliy setups, the personal psychology of trading.
And yes, maybe a coach to kick your ass when you screw up. That is what a good trading room should do.
At least that is what I do. That is what I never found when I was looking to learn to trade better.
