If you write your own book someday please include a chapter on how you made all of that money from mispriced options on those Binary Options trading sites. I think it would be interesting to hear how you even became aware of it. It seems like that type of thing would be dismissed from the start by you as a suckers game but somehow you became aware of the mispriced binary options? Thanks.

I had an account at Oanda for my oldestniece who was a freshman at Hopkins. She needed some discretionary spending money and pre-med is tough with a job. I opened an account for her and started buying NT forward starts and hedged with spot. The upside was the granularity of trading an exact delta figure with Oanda.

So we were doing pretty well and I began stressing different patterns (boxes) and quickly came to see that Oanda was pricing some forward-start digitals as touches. IOW, they had priced a prob of touch as a prob of expiring. So a payout worth say 70 was priced at 35.

They had also been pricing a near-ATM touch (fwd start) way outside of vanna volga. The average edge on the delimited payout on those was better than 20 (20/100).

And yeah, we were the reason that Oanda killed box options.

Trinitas Capital was even better, but it only lasted a few months. Trinitas operated "betsfortraders" and they were offering DNT buys on street names. They had a two week 45/55 DNT in WMT priced at 35/100 not to touch... the vola was sub-20% on vanilla and they were pricing the DNT at like 60-65 vola. $35 pays $100 if WMT didn't touch 45/55 with shares at $50. It was surreal. The shares were doing like 14% annualized stat vol. The stock was literally moving 40 cents a day.

Trinitas stopped all opening bets the DAY that last WMT trade paid. Oanda closed BOs a week or so after I wired-out.

Tools are meant to be used. Not a daily occurrence. Those door to door fish and meat guys sold my mother in law some BS story about my neighbor ordering fish and not paying. She was watching the kids for us. I come home and she tells me that she bought nearly $600 in chum salmon bc our neighbor was in Hawaii and left the salesman high and dry.

100% obv BS story. She calls the bank and stops payment. Guy is literally in the bank trying to cash the check. 30 mins later the guy shows up and is banging on the door. Like to the point of appearing like a B&E. Two guys. 5'9 and maybe 165, similar builds.

I tell my wife to video and I run through the garage out a side door. I come up behind them and pull a Lecter. I say stuff that I cannot repeat. No audio as wife is inside the laundry room. First guy swings and to this day I cannot believe he did it, but he was definitely high. The second guy runs away.

*Five* Washoe Sheriffs show and question me in the garage. They have a story that I was lying in wait and brandished a knife AND a gun. I let them go through their story and they ask if I will come in for an interview, no cuffs. I had uploaded the video to the cloud, and I begin playing the video.

Cops are shaking their head. They ask for the upload. The two perps charged with trespassing. IIRC 180 days in county. One guy got more time probably due to priors.

Don't get caught on tape unless you control the "narrative"

Awesome, thanks for explaining the backstory there. I always figured that sites like those were beneath you and not even on your radar. You were doing a favor for a family member and in no time you saw the incorrect options pricing. Then you destroyed them. You were using Hoadley Tools in realtime right?

I was so inspired by that story of yours that I wrote my own crude primitive tools to price binary options near realtime. I went on Nadex and saw how truly horrible the odds were against me. I wasted days on there with not much to show for it. I only found a glimmer of an edge on daily binaries in the last hour of trading. Still not worth the effort.

I had a similar thing happen to my mother. I don't think it was a scam but some hispanic woman (who could barely speak English, not being racist) was somewhat upset about a car that a neighbor had sold her. I told her that I have nothing to do with deals being done between her and my mother's neighbor. I offered to call the police on her behalf and she can complain to them about it. Once I said "police" she got the heck out of there.

Less than an hour later I hear a knock on the door and some guy (this time redneck cajun type) insists on selling me shrimp and fish. He was one of these door to door meat and fish guys but without the nice truck. This guy is literally trying to force his product on me and telling me how all of the neighbors buy from him. I told him "I don't eat that". He just stands there staring at me at the doorstep like I am crazy and says "so you don't eat shrimp?". It is like this guy is trying to have a staring contest with me. I pull out my cell phone and pretend to take a call and I say to him "gotta go bye bye" and I shut the door. He wanders off down the street to harass the next neighbor. This guy really pissed me off with his confrontational attitude. I am sure it works on old grandmas. I don't get how your mother-in-law was strong armed into taking delivery on behalf of a neighbor?
